Tensou Sentai Goseiger - Post-Series Discussion Thread

I admit that i wanted the end to be Alot flashier than it was.
Plus i skipped alot of episodes in the middle since i got bored of the show but came back once Blade-RUN showed up.

... dear god... A lot flashier? Thew grew wings, flew into the air. created a giant card and power to stop the world from getting destroyed. Just how in the HELL could it have been flashier.

Eh, that's the same logic by which Hyde wanted to sacrifice everyone's lives so that Alata could fight Bladerun. Alata scrapped that idea, too. This show clearly believes that you don't beat a monster by meeting him on his terms; you make up your own.

That it does.

Alata could have truned into a Seraph and the hand of God himself could had come down and smoat Barjira.

But i already admitted i was Wrong in that king. How it ended fit with the rest of the series, i just didn't like that fact and was hoping it would pull a 180 at the last minute.

But when the the Biblical version of what an Angel is has been hammered into your head since childhood, it's hard to accept any other take on it (in this case Humans with Magic powers).

If you are watching a kids show about spandex clad people with the idea of REAL RELIGION in mind.. Then it's not the show with the issue

Yeah, to me it was just a Giant Reset Button, but i do have to say i was expecting the Second Climax to come a little later in Epic 50 that it did, so the fact that the majority of the last episode was wrap-up didn't sit too well with me.

Yeah, the actual climax of Goseiger happens... honestly? I think it's when Bladerun reveals his true identity as Brajil, which I think is in episode 45 or 46. The fight against him for the next few episodes is the "tension period" between the climaxes. Then you get the second climax beginning in 49 and wrapping up in 50.

I imagine this is unusual pacing for Super Sentai, since... it's just unusual pacing for a Japanese show of this length. I think it worked but only because it played so neatly off of Goseiger's surprisingly complex four-arc structure. Each individual arc also has a climax/second climax/falling action period, too... since Goseiger has to defeat a completely different villain faction in each one.

Look at my Region 2 DVD collection and tell me I am not a fan. I own Zyu, Dai, Kaku, Car, Ginga, GoGoV, Time, Gao, Aba, and unfortunately Magi. Plus, I have the first volume to Oh and the first two to Flash, not to mention the number of movies. Then, for those that I do not own on DVD, I have them on my external harddrive, along with every subbed series Nihon has released
Then you'd think you'd understand what Toei was going for considering your level of knowledge in the franchise.

I completely disagree, as it is rewatching Dai or Kaku, it makes it harder to watch most of the stuff in the last 10 years.
It depends how attached you are to the show and how much you accept change For example, When Disney was handling PR a lot of people were saying "Its Not as good as Saban" and what not, but still they tried as hard as they can to like these shows and guess what? I'm not speaking for everyone but the ones who threw aside the whole lack of continuity (NS) and too many explosions (OO) a few of their shows were actually found to be great if not awesome! What I'm saying is any modern show you watch will obviously not be like the older stuff but you'll find that when you really try to adjust and understand why things are the way they are it suddenly isn't such a big deal that there is no plot, Just relax and take the show one episode at a time and find things you do like and stop worrying that its going nowhere or its stupid, Final point: you should try to like the show not make it your worst enemy.

That does not make any sense. There have been plenty of series that did not leave any disappointments. Geki, Aba, Dai, Kaku, Car, GoGoV, etc. That is like saying you should expect disappointments from everything.
Come on of course every series leaves some sort of disappointment, I for one don't or ever believe that there is any such thing as the "Perfect series", Its just not possible heck i was disappointed when Rio and Mele died in Gekiranger or that we didn't see Goseigreen in Goseiger, in Toku there are always disappointments whether they are big or small and whether you like it or not.

I can think of a lot of things in Abaranger, Kakuranger, Dairanger, and GoGoV that disappointed the **** out of me. (Not so much to do with the endings, though-- more with the types of creative decisions they made.)

I finally finished Goseiger <3

I gotta say, the last episode was great! I love how they just did miraculous things... it kinda reminds us that angels are a miracle in a way too, so I think that's pretty cool.

The ending was so-so to me lol but God I cheesed so much every time their angel wings grow out lol... Alata is so cute & I just realized that Hyde needs to eat more cos his cheeks sink in most of the time :( my pooor boy come research me now baby

But I think most of the "core" of Goseiger isn't in the action or the things they do - it's more of what Alata says. I think what he says most of the time is the thing that Goseiger is trying to convey to the kids anyway, although the part where he went "maybe we were given this mission cos we're inexperienced" was pretty deep; u need a certain level of maturity to understand that & guess what? I understood it ;)

^ That bit (Alata's speech) actually brought tears to my eyes when I watched it. I love the message to kids that they should go out and be curious, and experience and love the world. Go out! Have adventures! Learn things! Because the future lies in you! ;)
