And they didn't need to make it look like Racoon City to make it awesome. Second movie I make no apologies for because it was a solid story and action. Second one I thought was great.

First one was...................... eh.

Third one was an abomination. They really just didn't care.

Seriously, I've mentioned this to non-geeks and even THEY reacted with "What? That's stupid!"

And yet it has been said MANY TIMES OVER that Bay likes to joke, kid around, and lie to the fan base to rattle their chains while, in reality, the movie is going to be surprisingly more faithful to the source material than you expected. If I remember correctly, Bay did this before with either Transformers 2 or 3 when he kept saying, during the production phase, that Megatron was NOT going to be in those movies.

I've actually made peace with the alien joke and was looking forward to what they might be coming up with. If there has been a delay in the production for any reason, I doubt it's because the Ninja Turtles script was THAT drastically different from the source material.

You're talking in circles and missing the point completely. Yes, people have a tendency to blindly do what others do, but why are those others doing it? Whose lead are they following? The answer is Michael Bay sucks.

There are two types of people who like Michael Bay movies: stubborn apologists, who are deliberately as recalcitrant and contrarian as they can be in order to combat what they see as unfair bias or unilateral gang mentality, and people who know nothing about movies.

Keith and MMPR sound a bit like they belong in the first category, though mainly I just want to give them the benefit of the doubt before assigning them to the second,

I believe its mostly lonely fanboys on the internet who hate on him though. Almost all of his movies have been financial success's because people enjoy his film making style and keep coming back

Some people do maybe, but I could just as easily say there are people that say they like the bay movies just to go along with their friends. It's still stupid to say it.

Wow. Elitist much? Sure there are people that hate on things, but to lump anyone who has a dislike for bays style as you did is not only asinine, it just makes you look like an ass. Financial success has nothing to do with this. You are saying that people are followers for not liking bays stuff. You are saying that of ALL people that dislike his style and work. Now you want to add that because his movies make money they MUST be good. Well what ever. You and keith can love him. No one is saying you shouldn't. But when you tell those of us that don't like his work for our own personal reasons that we are followers or "lonely fanboys", you just make yourselves look like elitist dicks.

That.... is kinda.... stupid. There's not two types. It's just I'm able to enjoy different things different ways. I don't go to ever bit of entertainment and try to get the same thing out of each of them. My take on the movie depends on individual experiences. I don't go to Transformers to get a better understand of myself. I go for sheer spectacle. And even that gets judge on its own. I though TF 2 as a great spectacle, but ultimately hated it for just being *too* stupid and offensive. Third was great freaking spectacle, but what dumb parts it had didn't offend me too much. First one... I just thought it was fine.

LOVED Arma-- anyway... no... you don't have to be either stupid or an asshole to enjoy a Michael Bay film. Just... I dunno... some people are able to just have some fun at a movie. I've other things that make me think and learn more about myself and the world around me.

When some one, you in this case, tells me that my opinion is that of a follower or a person that only goes along with things because of "fashion", you can bet you are going to get a tone. You didn't show any respect with your comments from a page back. Maybe that was a mis-step on your part, but there you have it.
