Those doctors must've been just starting out. Because, I doubt a well-trained doctor would completely missed that.

We will never know. For instance, the culprit is Escherichia Coli that invades the Central Nervous System and then misdiagnosed and made the innocent Neisseria meningitidis the blame for the patient's meningitis.
