It’s about time! Tales From The Crypt has such a unique blend of horror and dark humor that really set it apart in the 90s. I used to love the opening with the Crypt Keeper's puns; it was the perfect way to get into each creepy story. Streaming it will definitely bring back a lot of nostalgia, especially for those who grew up watching it late at night.

Do you have a favorite episode or story from the series? I think the “And All Through the House” segment is a classic!

Tales From The Crypt was my favorite show growing up and I could never find it anywhere. Now it’s finally coming to Shudder in May. The fact that they got John Kassir back as the Cryptkeeper makes it even better. That voice is perfect. I remember watching every episode with my brother and getting scared but loving it. The guest stars were always crazy good too. Brad Pitt and all those big names in one horror show? Can’t wait to binge the first season on May 1.

I remember watching Tales From The Crypt late at night when I was younger, and it always felt like something I was not supposed to see. The Cryptkeeper voice stayed in my head for years. I always wondered why the show was not easy to find like other HBO shows. It feels strange that it took this long to come to streaming, but I am glad it is finally happening. I do not have Shudder right now, but I might subscribe just for this. The lineup of actors is honestly surprising when you look back at it. It shows how big the series really was at the time. I just hope the episodes still feel the same and are not edited in any way.

I think it is funny that HBO did not keep this show on their own platform. It feels like something they should be proud of. Instead, Shudder gets it, which kind of makes sense since it is focused on horror. I never used Shudder before, but this might be the reason I try it. The Cryptkeeper coming back with new promos is actually a nice touch. It shows they care about the release. I just hope the quality is good and not some low resolution version. Old shows sometimes get treated badly when they move to streaming.

This is huge. Tales From The Crypt on Shudder starting May 1? Yes please. I used to record episodes on VHS and watch them over and over. All those famous actors showing up was always a surprise. Michael J. Fox, Demi Moore, even Christopher Reeve. Directors like Zemeckis too. It felt special. Glad they brought the Cryptkeeper back for the promo. His voice still gives me that same feeling. I’m marking my calendar for every Friday drop.

I used to rent random VHS tapes, and sometimes Tales From The Crypt episodes were included in those collections. I did not always understand the stories, but I remember the tone clearly. It had a mix of horror and dark humor that felt different from other shows. I think Shudder is actually the right place for it because the audience there will appreciate it more. I like that they are releasing it slowly instead of all at once. It gives people time to talk about each episode.

Been saying for years that Tales From The Crypt needs to be on streaming. Finally it’s happening on Shudder. The lineup of actors back then was insane. You had everyone from Joe Pesci to Ewan McGregor. The stories were short but they stuck with you. I’m happy they got the original Cryptkeeper voice for the new promo. That guy never missed. I’ll be watching every season as it drops through June.

I am a bit annoyed that it is not going to a more popular service. Not everyone has Shudder, and it feels like this limits the audience. At the same time, I understand why a horror platform would want something like this. It just feels like one of those cases where a classic show is still hard to access unless you pay for another subscription. I might wait and see if it ever moves somewhere else.
