In the summer of 2023 a new Studio Ghibli-inspired, 5E-compatible campaign was crowdfunded on Kickstarter: Obojima: Tales Of The Tall Grass. Now that same game is being sold on Backerkit, which made us scratch our heads for a minute. Usually when Kickstarters reappear on Backerkit it’s immediately after the other campaign ended, as a way to raise further cash or to catch late pledges. Why is this appearing on a different crowdfunding site over two years later? Here’s the truth: Backerkit is currently running a promotion called Holiday Market. Ah, the Island of Obojima sounds like a delightful place to explore with its creatures and magic waiting to be discovered! Studio Ghibli-inspired and 5E-compatible, this campaign seems like a treasure trove for roleplaying enthusiasts. With new races, subclasses, spells, and monsters, there's plenty to keep players engaged in the world of Tall Grass.

The move to Backerkit after the Kickstarter campaign is interesting. It's great to see platforms like Backerkit supporting independent creators through initiatives like the Holiday Market, providing a second chance for backers to support projects they may have missed initially. It's heartwarming to know that all products are handmade by talented individuals, adding a personal touch to each purchase.

Have any of you delved into campaigns inspired by Studio Ghibli worlds in your tabletop adventures? How did the themes and aesthetics influence your roleplaying experiences?
