Here’s something no one brought up during SDCC: the release date for Squid Game Season 2. For some reason Netflix had this in their pockets the whole time but neglected to reveal it until after the event was over. Perhaps they wanted our full attention and didn’t want to share it with Amazon or Marvel or anyone else? Whatever their motive was, they picked today and only today to release a letter from Hwang Dong-hyuk, creator of Squid Game, on the return of his series — which is happening within 2024. The first season of Squid Game was an unexpected hit for Netflix, who had been investing in Korean shows but expected them to remain niche. The massive success of the battle royale paved the way for other K-dramas like Extraordinary Attorney Woo to reach a large US audience. Initially thought of as a limited series, Dong-hyuk now faces the problem of coming up with more AFTER killing off most of his characters. How’s he gonna do it? The man

This is crazy! I can't believe we have to wait until December for Squid Game season 2. I was hoping it would be sooner. I'm so excited to see what happens next. I wonder if Gi-hun will be able to take down the Front Man. I hope so! I also can't wait to see what happens in season 3.

I hate reality shows so I though this is a new season of Squid game the challenge. Thank Goodness it is not. Thank Jesus is a real season 2 of the show that helps me survive the pandemic.

Squid Game is a cultural phenomenon. I can't believe it's been three years since the first season. I'm excited to see what the creators have in store for us. I hope season 2 is as good as the first season. I'm also looking forward to season 3. I wonder if it will be the final season or if there will be more.

Squid Game's ending was a major disappointment. I was really invested in the characters, especially Kang Sae-byeok and Ali. They brought depth and complexity to the story. Having Gihun as the sole survivor feels hollow. It's like watching an entire team play a game, only to have one person win while everyone else loses. It's a hollow victory. I was hoping for a more complex ending, perhaps with multiple survivors or a different outcome altogether. The show's potential for exploring deeper themes of morality and human nature was squandered with such a predictable conclusion.

OMG! Squid Game season 2?! YASSSSS! December can't come soon enough. They totally left us hanging at the end of season 1. Gi-hun going back into the games for revenge? That's insane but kinda epic. I wonder what crazy new challenges they'll come up with this time. Can't wait to binge-watch the whole thing in one sitting with my squad!

I loved season 1, but how can they possibly continue the story? They killed off most of the characters! Gi-hun going back in for revenge? Seems kinda risky, doesn't it? Like walking back into a lion's den. I'm curious to see what they come up with, but I'm cautiously optimistic.

Season 3 already confirmed? Now that's what I like to hear! I hate shows that leave things hanging for years on end. Glad they have a plan for a complete story with this Squid Game trilogy. December for season 2 is a great way to end the year with a bang. Now I gotta rewatch season 1 to refresh my memory.

Huh, didn't know there was even going to be a season 2 of Squid Game. It was a pretty intense show, not gonna lie. But it was definitely entertaining. I guess I'll have to check out the new season when it comes out. Maybe it'll explain what happened to all those people who died in the first one. Hopefully, more violent this time around.

Dude, the way Netflix snuck in the Squid Game season 2 news right after the Olympics is some next-level marketing! Talk about capitalizing on that global competition vibe. It's like they knew everyone would be hyped on games and challenges, then BAM! Squid Game is back, baby! Season 1 was a phenomenon, remember? Everyone was talking about it. This next season is bound to be even wilder.

Think about it: season 1 dropped in the middle of the pandemic. We were all stuck at home, glued to our screens, and Squid Game became this crazy shared experience. Now, three years later, the world's opened back up a bit, but the excitement for the show hasn't faded.
