Supernatural Season 3 -- Talk Up! *SPOILERS ABOUND*

Supernatural Season 3 -- Talk Up!

I see threads for other shows, so I figured why not, right?

I know this is a bit early, since it's July, and the season won't start until September, but my goal for this thread to encourage discussion of the first two seasons, answer questions from new and/or forgetful viewers and provide anticipation for the premire, and the running discussion thread when the season actually starts.

But first:

THE ANNOUNCEMENT THAT MADE THE FANGIRLS CRY:

It was announced last month that Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) are no longer the show's only regular characters. For season 3, they will be joined by a mercenary named Bela, and a fellow hunter named Ruby.

UPDATE (7/12/07):

The role of Ruby has been cast, and will be played by Katie Cassidy

Loose Ends From Season Two:

At the end of season 2, there were a few dangling threads that are unresolved.

1) Mary's Connection To The Yellow Eyed Demon: As seen in this Clip from All Hell Breaks Loose, Part One, The Yellow Eyed Demon takes Sam to a high def instant replay to the night of November 2, 1983 -- the night Mary Winchester was killed. Before her death, she sees the demon's yellow eyes and says "It's you". How did Mary know him?

2) Deals With The Devil: After failing to save Sam's life at the end of All Hell Breaks Loose, Part One, a desperate Dean summons the Crossroads Demon and sells his soul to bring his brother back to life. The Demon accepts, but with two conditions: Payment is due in exactly one year's time, and if Dean tries to get out of the deal, the contract will be null and void, and Sam will instantly drop dead.

3) 100% Sam?: During the final battle with the Yellow Eyed Demon, Sam kills the Demon's general -- and his murderer by emptying an entire clip of bullets into him. Later on, The Yellow Eyed Demon taunts Dean over Sam's actions saying implying that Sam may not have been brought back exactly as he was.

4) Pandora's Box Is Open: Also during the final battle with the Yellow Eyed Demon, a Devil's Gate was opened and an estimated 200 demons escaped from hell and are now loose in the world. Looks like the boys have some work to do.

Season 3 Spoilers:

[HIDE]SPN 301: The Magnificent Seven

In a Supernatural twist of The Seven Deadly Sins, Bobby advises caution, but Sam disagrees. The demon Envy recognizes Dean by name. Two more hunters, Tamara and Isaac, help chase down the demons before realizing they're being hunted themselves. Dean tells them all to escape while they can while he tries to slow them down, showing an apparent death wish that angers his brother.

UPDATE (7/13/07):

[HIDE]Episode 3.02: The Kids Are Alright

07/13 - Sam and Dean hunt changlings targeting mothers and their children. Dean has a reunion with Lisa, a woman he once had a one-night stand with. Her son, Ben, strongly reminds Dean of himself. Though it makes him uncomfortable, Dean's natural instincts with children helps him get to know the boy, and watch with pride as Ben stands up to a bully. Meanwhile, other mothers admire Dean's... assets.

Okay, I finished up both seasons of the show maybe a week ago... It only took like, oh, a week. I'm so going to buy the DVD set and have a marathon with my friends next month... I cannot express my love for this show with words. <3 <3

And Jensen? GUH.

Ehem.

Great topic!! I'm eager for season three, but I do want to remain spoiler free... But I don't want to miss out on discussion about the current seasons.... Hide tag is your friend? XD

Although, I did end up reading that new character bit. WHAT?! Yes, this fan girl is crying. When I first started watching, it was kind of like, "there are only two main characters?" but it worked. Hopefully whoever is added works too.

And Dean will be saved!!!! (Or I won't be back for another season. :bawling: )

I hid the spoiler to make the discussion more acessable for Spoiler phobes and Spoiler whores alike.

I'm not too worried about the new characters, because everything about them points to being enemies.

Aw, FK, you really should catch up!! If you can't get interested in S2, at least finish off the last two episodes, it is a very good place to end.

The last episode is especially lovely, I was crying throughout. :bawling:
