Just to let you guys know, my school is having a Melee tournament tomorrow.

The prize? A copy of Brawl.

I'm excited and nervous at the same time, but I intend to win this thing. Wish me luck.

Vegas Smash had a Brawl tournament today at Play n' Trade, the prize? another copy of Brawl (Vegas Smash has had like 10 tournaments with Brawl as the prize these past few months :sly: sure with the older ones you have to wait till the store gets some in stock before you get it), it seems like everywhere is having a Brawl or Melee tournament with Brawl as the prize :laugh:

Anyway tomorrow I finally get a copy of Brawl that I don't have to use my friends Wii to use :thumbs: I wish save files from JP versions could crossover into the NA version :disappoin

I finally got connected with a couple peeps. Woot! online was fun but god damn Nintendo and their retarded Online functionality. We need headsets so we can talk to each other, lol. Its not as fun without talking with the other person

Its called online shopping Thats what people thought about Halo 2 and Halo 3, but guess what? every store had plenty of copies enough to last a week if people buy every day.

I hope online actually works, it took like 5 hours to find someone in the JP version (and that someone was another player with a modded Wii). :shakefist

EDIT: WOW Bullshit on online, EVERYONE wants to play with items, I haven't got a single game with items off.

Who cares if items are on or not? I've been playing with items too.

Why don't you just make your own game? You can turn items off at the top there when you start a game.

Wait you can join games? I have never played a single WiFi game since I was playing the JP version (and I only got one). I only have the option to host games, not join, and I turn items off and its always on the "searching screen", well on Team Battle I got one guy but he left. It must be something up with my Brawl settings since Wii Connect 24 and DS WiFi work fine in the room.

Theres are reason why items are banned from tournaments, using items in a official match is like Mage D'ing in MTG or playing a ranked game on Halo 3 and everyone has Spartan Lasers, overshield, and low gravity or playing a game of Capcom vs SNK with extra HP, double damage, and infinite special. In other words playing with items doesn't improve your skill nor show skill nor does it make the match a "good" match. Items is just for messing around.

I hate that "searching" crap. They shouldnt put a time limit on there until you have another player joined.

I like items because it makes everything unpredictable. But at the same time, so far in my online matches, I've been too busy getting into the fray to focus on grabbing items. So they havent affected me too much. And I love those smash balls.

Well folks, I got eliminated in the second round. I also lost the loser's bracket. I still had fun though. The guys I fought didn't whoop my ass like I thought they would; I was actually on par with the other competitors.

But all is not lost. My mom wants me to take my brother to a dance this Friday, and she going to pay me for it. Whenever I do her a favor like this, she usually pays me $25. So I'm going to use that to pay for half of Brawl, and use my debit card to pay for the rest.

So I'll still be on Brawl; just a little late.
