Kai's mind was processing what Prince had said as he still searched for any survivors. Insect and Reptile things? That sounds like Kiba! But he said that he was the only successful one in his project! Kai stopped his search and walked up to the crimson clad lizard. "Kiba, this might be personal, but it's vital to the mission. How many like you survived this project you were a part of? Is it possible that some of your...'siblings' could be behind this?" Kai then began to worry. Kiba has been very good in his job, to say the least. If all of his 'siblings' are like this...Oh, God...we could be in trouble... He waited for Kiba's answer, even though he knew that it might hurt the poor creature...

Crimson Reaper turned to Blue Dasher, cocking his head in confusion. "Well... I was the first and only one to be processed. The others were liquidated before they could even finish with their gene encoding. I was the only one to survive. This could be any kind of mutation. I'm not the only kind of freak out there." Kiba's tone had switched from shy to hurt in a few seconds from Dasher's line of questioning. Why would Kai immedeately think my kind did this? Does he still not trust me? Kiba turned his back to Kai, walking toward a metallic door leading to the upper levels. Kiba grabbed the handle and swung the door open... a bloody corpse falling to the ground in a disgusting heap. "Jezus..."

Wincing at the corpse, Kai walked behind Kiba, noticing that his words did hurt the creature. Great job, idiot! "I'm sorry, Kiba...that was wrong of me to ask those questions. I'll take point." Readying his Beat Shot, Kai gingerly stepped over the bloody corpse and looked up the stairs. What he saw was more of the same claw marks and such. Kai looked around him cautiously as he headed up the steps, switching to his heat vision to see if anything was in here, survivor or otherwise.

Running towards then Gold Beet had drawn his Card Magnum. "Sorry I took so long guys something held me up" He said looking at the corpse. "We've got to stop the people behind this and fast" He thought then placed his hand on his rib which was still killing him. "Hey Crimson I'll take lead this time okay?" He asked smiling behind his helmet.

Shina breathed in deeply for a moment, and followed not too far behind.

Running towards then Gold Beet had drawn his Card Magnum. "Sorry I took so long guys something held me up" He said looking at the corpse. "We've got to stop the people behind this and fast" He thought then placed his hand on his rib which was still killing him. "Hey Crimson I'll take lead this time okay?" He asked smiling behind his helmet.

Crimson turned to GB, nodding. Though he had still been hurt by BD's words... there was some truth in them. This attack had been organized and executed with efficientcy. The creatures had access to heapons and were obviously not stupid. But just what.

Clang! Clang!

Crimson snapped out of his thought at the sudden noise, looking upward at the stairs. A round item bounced down toward them, small red lights flickering on it's side. The item fell to a stop five feet from the group, it's exact purpose clear.

"Gernade!"

Reaper grabbed GB from the front, twisting around so as to block the explosion from him. Suddenly, a firey eruption engulfed the stairway, the explosive force sending fragments of metal flying toward the group. Above, a shadowy figure snarled,retreating back to it's hiding spot.

Kai saw the grenade being thrown and dived forward reaching to the top of the steps, dodging the explosion. As the smoke clear, Kai shouted down the staircase. "Hey, is everyone alright?!" Hearing the snarl of the figure who threw the grenade, Kai grew furious. "You...I'm going on ahead, guys!" Not really giving much thought on what he would run into, Kai continued to scan the area as he opened a door that led deeper into the facility. As he went through, Kai didn't realize he was being watched...

(OOC: Well, if he's safely above the stairway, then he should be able to find a way for the rest of the team to get above safely. Plus... he could get ambushed. Held captive. Who knows?)

Gold Beet had seen the gernade to late but was glad to have Crimson save him. "Thanks partner!" He said getting up and saw Dasher chasing the thing that attacked them. "No wait for us!" He said then looked at Braver and Crimson. "Come on guys we all know how determine all of us get when we find a suspect lets stop Dasher before he gets himself killed!" He said running after Blue Dasher.
