Hi, so far I’ve watched the heisei kamen rider series from agito till kiva, n I’ve noticed some similarities among the 8 kamen rider shows, so, I’m making a summary on the heisei kamen rider series:
1) Rider Kick. This is the most common n legendary characteristics among all kamen rider series including the showa kamen riders.. every main rider use rider kick as their hissatsu attack (finisher attack), except hibiki n den-o sword form.. Being the first n main rider, den-o sword form did not perform rider kick, in fact, den-o rod form n climax form perform the rider kick.. No kamen rider in kamen rider hibiki perform rider kick..
2) Rider Bike. This is also another common n legendary characteristics among all kamen rider series from early showa series till now.. every kamen rider has their own significant bike, such as rider shooter, auto vajin, blue spader, red rambuss, gaika, tatsumaki, kabuto bike, gatack bike, den bird, kiva machine n so on..
3) Appearance of more riders. Starting from agito, secondary rider starts to appear, meaning there is not only one rider in each shows.
4) Gun user rider. Among all the riders appeared in each heisei kamen rider series, there is surely one rider who uses gun or shooting equipment as weapon in the battle, such as G3, zolda (zolda never used strike vent), delta, garren, ibuki, drake, den-o gun form n kiva bashaa form.
5) Rider Fights. Starting from the appearance of more than one rider in each series, the fight among riders also occurs.. Except for kamen rider hibiki, all the heisei kamen rider series features rider fights.. for example, agito fight gills, ryuki fight with all 12 others riders except raia n femme, faiz fight kaixa n delta, blade fight garren n chalice, garren fight leangle, kabuto fight thebee, drake, sasword, kick hopper n dark kabuto, den-o gun form fight zeronos altair form, kiva fights IXA, saga n dark kiva and so on.. In each movie, fights between riders are also enhanced. In other words, some of the extra riders didn’t get along very well, maybe this is due to the story n plot of each series..
6) More ppl can transformed into kamen rider. It is not only one particular, fixed person can transformed into a particular kamen rider. Other ppl can also transformed as long as they have n know how to equip the rider gear on them. For example, everyone can transformed into G3 by wearing the G3 suits.. Since Goro replaced Kitaoka n transformed into zolda in the last episode of kamen rider ryuki, it means everyone can henshin as long as u can get a hand on a card deck. Everyone can transformed into faiz, kaixa or delta so long as u can manage to get the belt n hv sufficient orphenoch DNA. In kamen rider blade, everyone can also transformed if ur body r strong enough, seeing Kiryuu transformed into Leangle in 2 episodes. In Hibiki, u can also be an oni if u undergo training with an oni of Takeshi. In kabuto, u can also transformed into any one of the riders if u can manage to catch the zectors, like Mishima transformed into thebee for a short while. In kiva, u can also transformed into IXA if u can get a hold of the belt, seeing Yuri, Megumi, Kengo, n Otoya transformed into IXA.
7) Rider evolves. Every main rider in the heisei kamen rider series evolves. Agito evolves into burning form n later further evolves into shining form. Ryuki evolves into survive form, faiz into exel form n later blaster form, blade evolves into jack form n later into king form. Hibiki evolves into hibiki kurenai n later further into hibiki soukou (armed hibiki), kabuto evolves into hyper kabuto, den-o evolves into climax form n later further into liner form, and kiva also evolves into emperor form.. some secondary rider also evolves, such as G3 into G3-X, gills into exceed form, knight into survive form, garren into jack form, chalice into wild form, zeronos into zero form n IXA into rising form..
8) A sword appear halfway in the series. A sword will appear to each main rider after they gain their final evolution starting from kamen rider faiz.. faiz got an equipment to gain into blaster form n that equipment can be used as a sword like weapon or shooting weapon. Blade has a large n seems heavy sword after he became king form. Hibiki soukou has armed saber. Hyper kabuto has perfect zector. Den-o liner form has DenKamen sword. Kiva emperor form has zanvat sword.
9) Animal monster. Most of the monsters in the heisei kamen rider series are designed from animals, such as lion, horse, wolf, crab, scorpion, bird, octopus, jellyfish, rhino, spider n many other animals. For example, we have wolf orphenoch, wolf undead, wolf imagin n wolfen garulu. Another example, we hv spider mirror monster, spider undead, spider imagin n spider fangire. We hv horse orphenoch, zebra undead n horse fangire. There are a lot of repetitive animals used as designs for the monsters in heisei kamen rider series, such as lords, mirror monsters, orphenochs, undeads, worms, imagines n fangires.
10) Mosters have human form n can be able to speak human language. In faiz, orphenoch have human form. In blade, the high level undead (category king, queen n jack) have human form. In hibiki, the douji n hime oso originate from human form. In kabuto, the worm oso copy themselves in human form with the human’s memory. In den-o, the imagin can speak Japanese. In kiva, fangires also hv human form. I was wondering, is the monsters in kamen rider series naked? Or do they wear clothes? Why when they changed into human form or vice versa, they have clothes in their human form?
11) Monster transformed into kamen rider. Since kamen rider faiz I think, kamen rider not only transformed by human, monsters can also transformed into kamen rider.. Orphenoch can use Faiz, kaixa n delta belt (in fact the belts were designed for the orphenochs), chalice is the joker undead, sasword is a scorpion worm, imagin can transformed into den-o (those taros imagines), spider fangire, rook n Jirou (wolfen race) can use the IXA belt to transform. Saga n Dark kiva r fangires as well.
12) Giant monsters. I haven’t watch the showa kamen rider series, but I think most of the monsters in kamen rider series were in humanoid size.. Starting from kamen rider hibiki, giant monsters began to appear, like the giant makamou in hibiki, imagin that transformed into gigandeath when they are out of control, n the fangires’ souls that combined into giant fangires, as well as fangires that turn into giant fangires. A few giant orphenoch also appeared in kamen rider faiz.
13) Large amount of monsters appeared towards series finale. Starting from ryuki, large amount of monsters appeared towards each series finale. In ryuki, large amount of dragonfly monster appeared in the mirror world which causes ryuki’s death. In blade, large amount of cockroach undead appear as the joker being the final survivor of the battle royale after the giraffe undead (diamond category king) was defeated n sealed by garren. In hibiki, large amount of makamou including summer makamou appear during orochi period.. In kabuto, large amount of worm appeared near to the series finale. In den-o, large amount of mole imagin n some revived imagin appeared as ordered by Kai to kill Airi Nogami.. In kiva, large amount of fangires were revived by Bishop near to the series finale..
14) A restaurant in each series. as far as I saw, there is a restaurant in each series.. In agito, there is no restaurant until the last episode when Shoichi opened a restaurant.. In ryuki, there is Atori House runs by Yui.. In Blade, there is the Jacaranda runs by Amane n her mother.. In hibiki, there is the Tachibana Restaurant that runs by the Tachibana sisters where there is an oni research base n a lab underneath the restaurant. In kabuto, there is Bistro la Salle that runs by Hiyori.. In den-o, there is the Milk Dipper owns by Airi n Nogami, a place to drink coffee n observes stars.. in kiva, there is Mald’amor, a place to drink coffee as well, where Jirou (Garulu) made his first payment for coffee.. Starting from den-o, the restaurant’s motive began to focus more on coffee rather than other dishes, such as Milk Dipper n Mald’amor..
15) Funny moment of cool characters. A cool character is the character that doesn’t smile much or laugh and don like to join those happy-go-lucky guy character in the show.. Some of the cool characters in kamen rider show also have funny moments throughout each series. In ryuki, Kitaoka n Ren have a funny moment with Shinji when they spy on a lady who has a possibility of being hunted by a mirror monster. Takumi also had some funny moment throughout the show kamen rider faiz. In blade, Hajime has a funny moment when another person who looked like him appeared but have opposite personality, and they exchanged identity. In hibiki, zanki has a funny moment when he teaches todoroki how to woo Hinaka. In kabuto, Tsurugi also has funny moment when he is trying to woo Misaki. In den-o, Yuuto has several funny moments when Deneb made him feel embarrassed. In kiva, Nago has funny moment when he teaches Kengo how to fight as IXA n also wearing the blue shirt with the number ‘753’ (nana-go-san) on the back.
