I get the impression that Japanese fans prefer Marvelous/Ahim but more English-speaking fans like Marvelous/Luka - probably because of the difference in how female characters are presented in the media (i.e. we're used to seeing tough action girls, they're used to seeing demure stay-in-the-kitchen types)

Fan shipping has no bearing on canon, either. The real Marvelous seems to want a harem that includes Jasmine too

It's not canon - they didn't kiss, go on dates, confess to having feelings for each other etc. etc. The show did try to deliberately hint at it, but it's still gross. WHAT PART OF "HE IS A DOG" DOES ARAKAWA NOT UNDERSTAND

I've also seen a few Go-onger/Engine shippers (Sousuke/Speedor, Renn/Bus-On etc.)

Funny enough, the cartoon character Betty Boop had a romance with a dog in some of her early shorts (she was originally supposed to be a dog herself, but then they made her into a sexy woman.) It had to be dropped when the Hays Code came in, but before that, viewers thought nothing of it :sweat:
