Spider-Man 4 on 'Indefinite Hold'

Too soon for a re-boot. Way too soon. If they're going to do this, do like TIH and just give me the origin a quick pre-credits scene. I don't want another hour of Peter whining about accepting his powers.

SM1 & 2 were good. SM3 had it's faults but it wasn't beyond saving. The cast seemed really excited. Raimi seemed to be returning to his original ideas for SM3.

The Batman reboot worked because a)it was released 16 years after the original and 8 years after the last installment b)it covered Batman's origin as opposed to a flashback reference like in the origin. So, the movie didn't repeat anything we had seen and c)it was a new take on the character.

I dunno about this....

Are they gonna do a total reboot, story an all? 'Cause the first two did that REALLY well all things considered; I don't see a need to redo it.

ON the other hand, if its a reboot like "The Incredible Hulk" (a new story using the established characterization but not strictly connected to the original plot/characters) then it could be AWESOME!

Actually ,the Hulk reboot film was based and inspired by the Old Bill Bixby TV Series since the director was a huge fan of it and mixed it with some of the original comic elements ,not exactly comic based to me .

I want James Cameron to direct a reboot with his original version or maybe get a black Spiderman .

Cameron is a good director, a visionary if you will. Although a phenomenal Spider-Man film can come from him, if he's not the writer of the script, and his ego won't allow that to happen.

There are two things he probably would have done better than Raimi: action and quips. Other than that, it would not have been pretty. His treatment with the villains in his Spider-man movie would not have flown with the fanbase.

He seems better suited for X-men or Fantastic Four or even Wonder Woman because he's almost the only one who writes badass women in action scenes and Wonder Woman needs that.

EDIT: And besides he has already mentioned in several interviews that he is planning two more sequels to Avatar. He also has mentioned two films Battle Angel and The Dive as projects he wants to get made. Not to mention the fact that he just bought the rights to Last Train To Hiroshima last month.
