Space Sheriff Gavan the Movie - Talk Back

hmmmm I am a bit iffy about the movie...Geki and other characters development did not cut it for me... The foot soldiers were human/ninja compared to the original ones who rocked the leather jackets lol...The plot itself was not extraordinary, Touya's character was bland and his acting sub-par.Don horror was straight up killed by Retsu though. Also Retsu was promoted to captain but in the movie he looks like a regular detective. They should have also played on the investigating aspect of the Keiji a bit more. IN the series you would see Retsu looking for clues and things but oh well you cannot fit it all in one movie. Kenji Oba straight up owned all his scenes, 57 years old and still is doing his stunts, sony chiba would have been proud, what a joy to see his infamous outfit, the leather jacket and the white pants that never got dirty lol...

Overall it is ok , I enjoyed it , i loved the fighting choreography without getting suited.Dr com was in the movie, sheider and sharivan were there. Still no signs of hiroshi Watari.I really think that Toei is secretly beefing with him.
Overall it was ok, im amazed it even opened 5th at the box office, please let us upgrade his arsenal or even create a new Uchuu keiji...

Eh, I didn't like this movie. I thought Gokaiger VS Gavan was better, it was especially better at capturing the Uchuu Keiji feel.

I mean, how boring and unlikable were the three leads, for how much screen time they ate up? It was hard to care about any of them or their limp storyline. The casting of Yuuma Ishigaki was a HUGE mistake -- he just sucks and has no presence or personality. (And this is Kenji Ohba's shoes he's putting on here!)

The Space Sheriff shows relied on likable, talented leads, interesting visuals and nonstop action, and I think this new movie -- for being a big attempt at reviving the brand -- wasn't able to deliver in any of those areas. "Space Sheriff Spirits" was better and had more love put into it, and it was a video game. (Playing Space Sheriff Spirits is what really kicked off my even liking the Space Sheriff shows.) Although I like Osamu Kaneda as an action director, I just don't know if he's well-suited at directing-directing, because...this was just a plain, visually dull movie. It has no liveliness and doesn't evoke the world of the Uchuu Keiji shows.

For a minute there, I was actually interested in Superhero Taisen Z, even though the first one was atrocious. After watching this movie with Fake Gavan, and Zombie Sharivan and Zombie Shaider? (Really, way to roll out of bed and sleepwalk through your cameos, Miura and Iwanaga!) Not so interested.

I finally got around to watching this and just couldn't enjoy it.

It took way too long for old Gavan to show up. I did enjoy how he comes out of nowhere to kick a whole lot of butt to save new Gavan. Reminded me of Mr Miyagi in Karate Kid.

Geki is really hard to root for. Why is he a racecar driver and also an astronaut? This movie was broken from the start. The love triangle was really boring.

I was surprised by the gore and all the deaths. Too bad they didn't go anywhere with that.
