Sony's arrogance was pretty summed up in the recent GI interview
Q: what if Blue Ray fails?
A: How can that be?
They can be that arrogant. PS3 failing = Blu ray failing. Sony has a lot going for them. They are relying on current popularity and the belief it'll launch their expensive system and people will ignore some of the stupid things they are doing.

$600 is ridiculous. The cost of the games is going to be ridiculous (all games are right now). The fact that you won't even own the flipping game (only a "license" to play it) is insane. Hopefully some things won't come to pass.

All that being said, I still want a PS3. Even if I'm not happy with Sony.

....

Well, to each their own. For me, I was dissappointed with what Sony gave us. I lost gaming faith in Sony. The only thing I'll further get from Sony are the PSP stuff. That's it.

Did I hear correctly? $600. That's retarted for somebody to pay that price on a gaming system; unless it pays rent for the rest of my univeristy time I don't want it. Think of all the BOSS, Gibraud, Nike, Tims you could buy with that.

What's not critical? :rolleyes2:

And the PS, PS2, PS3 and PSP suck, but only in your opinion. For me, original PS was fun at the time (man I can remember having a bomb playing Tekken 3), same with the PS2 (man I can remember having a bomb playing Tekken Tag Tournament and later Tekken 5), and if the PSP sucks, then how the heck come am I getting one for my birthday (man I can remember having a bomb playing Tekken... chotto.. there aren't any Tekken games being released on PSP yet, right?). Plus, with my PSP I can take some toku with me to my camping trip to temporarily relieve me of my boredom. Portable DVD players suck and I'm not dragging my fragine DVD collection to a frickin muddy campsite..

And what the heck is a Ninetendo DS? Is that the name of a crappy ass bootleg version of the NINTENDO DS, or is that just a typo?

Not for a camping trip we won't.

Wherever the heck did grown menn having a sleep over party come from.

......... :sly:

Could you translate that from Martian language into English please?

How can we be tripping if we're all sitting our butts on a chair infront of a computer?

Where did Old Navies come from? Of course we know it's to sell their stuff, it's an advertizement DU'H!! But was the racial crap nessesary?

What PR Commercial? Was that banned? Did that have any racial or drug related stuff?

Whatever that is I've never heard of it.

What's so funny about killing a Black couple? :sly:

Slaps head.

While I don't own a PSP myself, I've known about the white PSP for around 6 months. One of the kids in a school I sometimes sub at had an aunt who went to Shanghai on a business trip last January. As a surprise birthday present for him she came back with the white PSP. I still personally think the black one looks better.

That commercial IS fucked though. :170:

That's sad really. The DS is a shitty portable but it made up for it with good, fun games and the PSP was MUCH cooler. It even had its own format of video, which was SUPPORTED for once. Something usually unheard of.
Supported? Most of them movies that came out on UMD are Sony-owned movies and now there are no new titles at all coming out anymore. The UMD-format never gained any big support.
Here, GeoGeo, one of Japan's leading DVD shops for rentals and sale DVD's doesn't even list UMD on their site:

I wouldn't link PS3's success/failure with Bluray:
PS3 is first and foremost a gaming console
Bluray is a media format, mostly aimed at movies.
It could very well be that the PS3 doesn't sell well, but that Bluray as a media format succeeds. A lot of factors are to be taken into account for the Blu-ray/HDDVD war, such as movie studio support, production costs, availability of writable media and so on ...

As for this add, I'm not so shocked. It has been done before to play on the racial thing (cough Benetton cough) to grab peoples attention ... and that's all it is: an attention-grabbing technique by advertisement companies (and considering this topic's existance, it seems they have succeeded in that)
