So who took the torch from Schwarzanegro?

I was watching COMMANDO last night and forgot how awesome Arnie was.

Who do you guys think took the torch from him as far as action movies go?.

Some people think The Rock, some thing Sam Worthington, and some will go as far as saying nobody.

What do you guys think?.

I'd say nobody. The 80's and 90's were kind of the heyday of the action star and American action movies in general. That's not to say we still don't have plenty of action movies but there's nobody that's made that kind if impact and impression.

In a weird way, I think action movies nowadays suffer from a similar sort of thing a lot of people complain about with modern Toku. Instead of getting guys with real skills who just love doing action movies, they're hiring "idol" types who realize that being seen in a blockbuster special effects movie is a great stepping stone to a "serious" career.

There was some interview that the Rock (Or now forever known as Dwayne Johnson) took over. But I haven't seen enough action flicks from him. Instead I see Tooth Fairy (But Arnold went to have some of his fair share of kiddie flicks).

I can't wait to see Expendables. Its gonna be awesome.
