*Sigh* I barely Felt anything for Decade

OK, now where to start? :hmm:

August or Sept. (maybe later) Dukemon 1st post info on the name "Kamen Rider Decade" and the bit of info saying, it will be an "Anniversary Rider". Alright now weeks went by, then he said it's about past riders coming back all in one season, having cameos and all that good stuff. Me, I smelt burnt terd from a miiiiiiiiile away, so i stayed iffy about it this whole time.

Now as Kiva's Ending Everybody is anticipating decade, and i am just chilling....in the dark....with the crickets....sleeping. Then comes the week of Decade and I am as calm as ever, no anticipation, nothing. My anxiety was so low at one point i tried to fake it, but deep down i honestly didn't care.

Now here's one of my main points, it just felt like another day watching Kamen Rider . That isn't good. I watched decade and i see the Rider war, that's cool, then everything just felt the same like the motions from talking to action, to henshin, then finished. It's very repetitive. It felt like Kiva except it was a different theme.

So it was a 7.5 for me.

Now here's how Sentai differs, It brings lots of New stuff to the table. Every Year is completly different from the other. Like i said in another thread, sentai really sticks to it's roots out of all the toku. Look at Go-onger. Where they took it was so unexpected it's not even funny. It was extremely light, had alot of mecha, etc.

with Rider it's always, 1st Rider comes...fight and waste a few beginning episodes..a little arc, 2nd Rider and then so on. Like it's so real, I'm watching Ryuki right now..and I Know when another Rider will come. No hints, nothing.

Sentai is just a surprise everytime and goes out with a bang. Geki had a whole bunch of twist and turns that made it great. And watch the latest eps of go-onger, THERE PULLING TEAR JERKERS. Sentai is owning right now, I don't care how "deep" you think Rider is how dark toned, drama like, Adultish, w/e. It's just forgetting its foundations and needs to take a few steps back.

All in all, if decade is the End, then I'm fine. I can always hit up older Rider shows, finish Gransazer, GARO, w/e. As long as i have my Sentai, i'm good.

I can understand what you mean, but I loved Decade. I don't know why, something just made me real hyped about it. I enjoyed every minute of it. I can't wait to see it subbed but still. Unfortunately, I have fallen out of sentai with Go Onger. I was one of the very few that like Go onger, than it went bad. Now granit, these past few eps have been good. I am excited for Shinkenger don't get me wrong, but I am not going to be as hyped as I was with Decade. I like the whole Anniversary idea. He is a little to powerful but hey, not every thing is perfect? I will watch Shinkenger and see what I feel about it. But, like you with Kamen Rider, it could just be another Sentai episode. Lol, so I feel you, but I don't :lol:

Umm no. Sentai is not a surprise. It is about a team of 3 to 5 people that get powers and mecha at the start. Later they get more mecha, new weapons, maybe a suit power up, maybe a ranger or two or three added. Other than that it is the same thing every year.

I am not saying I don't like sentai. I am saying you can hardly call sentai a surprise every time, and keep a straight face.

Now you see how people felt with Kiva, and actually, every series each year. People jump right on it, loving it as if wearing some kind of anti-nostalgia goggles. I wasn't looking forward to Decade after how downhill it felt Kamen Rider had gone, but it actually looks promising, because it's a great way of celebrating the anniversary, and it still follows the usual formula whilst at the same time providing something brand new and promising. Not like last year, where we got a series almost entirely derivative of all the previous series.

And you just described the same for all other shows. So to say that sentai brings something new, and say that KR doesn't... Can you see where what you said just doesn't fly?

There isn't any point in starting something just for the sake of retaliation and the pattern you said that rider follows, sentai also follows it as well.

Not exactly, honestly i was on the verge of creating this thread. I was debating whether i should or not, but then what he said made snap. About the whole "Sentai is every year, so it's boring" thing And yeah i am aggravated. But Rider is just so the same, I'm not grasping it.

The thing with sentai and KR, yes, they do all look like the same thing in a general view. However, what I find fun about the franchises, is that you have to find what makes each season unique, and not the same. Try to ignore the traditions, and try to find what makes the stories of each season uniquely awesome.

Ex: Liveman is unique for focusing on a story about revenge.
Gekiranger is unique for using the theme of choosing one's destiny.
KR Black is unique for the dark themes and how Kotaro is burdened with how his life is screwed up, everyday.
KR 555 is unique for it's mysteries revolving around character connections.

That's what I like about these toku. I don't watch them just to see more the same of giant mecha or Rider Kicks, etc.

PS: Decade is like only one episode into the series. Don't judge it yet. Kiva turned out to be much better. Plus, Shinkenger hasn't even aired yet.
