Sharivan next generation,
- hated the way they had Gurando Basu looked, so cheap especially when he meets up esteban on earth, ghastly. Even when Gurando Basu switched intp battle formation, i wished they had kept the old look from the 80's rather yet improve upon that old look. We did not get to see Motosharian, Sharinger Tank and Morgriran.
- the first and 2nd suits were both amazing, so amazing hat you can barely tell the difference whereas gavan suits can easily be told apart. Sharivan's suit aged way better than gavan's, it feels kinda more futuristic than an old relic from the 80's. lastly i love the CGI effects when sharivan henshins and when he used laser Blado, dope.
-The scenery, it felt over used, the scenes in the factory and in that forest with the plosions, even that opening scenes with Gavan ughhh... i know budget was tight but japan is bug enough and im sure real estate for action scene is abundant. In a perfect world they should have shot the movie over different countries where the show was popular, more diversity as a result but oh well, back "back to life, back to reality" like the old song.
- the plot is rather basic, the background story on esteban and sharivan is average at best, but what can you expect in a 60mns feature. Dialogue is hmm hmm ok i guess, for all the japanese i could muster. I dont know why he fights another uchuu keiji at the end, if he finds out esteban is the snitch then why not call hierarchy and cancel his henshin access, or why not reveal a bigger treachery in the uchuu keiji Corps, at least have Sharivan fight esteban and another Uchu Hantsumi Soshiki Mado. I wish they had given a shout out to the real doctor Qom.
- The action looks good, i love the fact that contrary to our good old sentai, kamen rider and others it stuck to its roots live action without transforming which was really at the time i think the trumping card of uchuu keijis. the fight choreography was crisp, fun to watch and not repetitive like the good old JAC. Hiroshi Watari totally owned his scenes, esepcially his fighting scenes, being that age and still kicking ass as such on camera, he is the true senpai him and Kenji Oba are legends to me. Even his henshin sequence seems surreal far better executed than Riki Miura's, wish he had a subsequently greater part in the movie just like Kenji Oba did in his.I liked how the genmuKai was done here , wished we had more of it. I wish Riki Miura had a proper henshin like the whole choreography and all. Something that was new was when he got angry , started walking and summoned laser blado without doing the oh cliche move, me like.
- Rikki Miura to me did a somewhat good job, i did not see anything that made him memorable to me,they failed to create an interesting character. just like geki was somehow an off spring of Retsu .i.e funny and extraverted, Kai hyuga is the same for den iga. he is somewhat serious but lacks the connection or sentimental attributes that allowed Watari to connect with the audience but then again it is 60mns feature rather than a 51 episodes odyssey. Ryoma Baba did a good job, i really had no expectation so....
-The music i think was impeccable, they brought back the old soundtrack which aged gracefully even though it is 30 years old. it glued us to what was happening on screen, gotta appreciate the fact they havent really messed with it like the theme song for gacan type G. One regret though I miss the song they would play when Den iga would investigate because just like the first one thy really did not focus on them doing that real investigating detective work.
Overall i liked it, bought some memories back, motto motto uchuu keiji series, onto Uchuu Keiji Sharivannnnnn
