You know Kieth, that article you posted looong time ago at JapanHero about "United, WE ROAR!!", was amazing. What you said about the fandom was true. The Trnas-Former fandom, they odn't have Civil Wars, they embrace it, and that's kinda why they get the privlages Power Rangers don't.

I wish people would listen to that more.

Some of the issues spawn from fans liking the American productions more because of the budget or even racial reasons, while some prefer the Japanese shows because it came first, they genuinely like it better, or just for the hell of it. Too often though, people bash what they haven't really seen much of. It would be great to have an integrated PR/Sentai fandom, but I honestly don't see it ever happening.

Yeah, I truely believe the PR fandom can be something gigantic. Enough to eclipse even Transformers someday.

No show of its type has lasted this long and been this consistant. We've got two universes, American and Japanese to enjoy and get legends from.

If people would just get over the damn race and money line, they'd realize it's all the same kinda fun. We could have huge kickass conventions and all that, but people are so hung up on "choosing a side."

Yeah dude! You need toku bad, it rocks. Nihon is a great place to get a lot of really good shows that have been encoded/subbed pretty well. Sometimes they go overboard on their translations though.

And I'm on the same page as you, Keith. The PR/Toku fandom is one of the most negative and cynical I've EVER experienced, only closely followed by Star Wars. Just the amount of hate people are willing to spew is amazing. Remember when we were trying to get some petitions for season DVDs? People wouldn't even TRY, and they'd flame the hell out of anyone who did for being "stupid", even though they wanted the DVDs too.

Also, the Japan/America or PR/Sentai wars are just plain moronic. Saying you like one but you can't even respect the other, or that you, like Ray and PA, dream of a day where PR won't have any Japanese footage, is...argh. There are some people on this board (*cough*DragonFighter*cough* ) who are of the mentality that anything that comes out of America is crap, but none of them feel the desperate need to force their opinions on everyone like people on Rangerboard.

The really unfortunate thing is that the biggest PR community on the web has this complete atmophere of asshole-ness (for lack of a better word.) Hell, I flame people on there all the time...I can't help it. The place just does that to me. I'd love to see HJU become the biggest place instead. Sure, we have negativity and cynicism here, but we drown it out with the amount of kickass people who come here every day. The atmosphere's just completely different. People care about each other here, not just about themselves. That's a special thing.

Well, if we're gonna get as huge as TFW2005, ToonZone or RangerBoard, I'm gonna need to find a way to bring in money. I'm no millionaire like Jeff and Ray, so I couldn't foot the bill myself unless I learned to bypass the need for food and take up photosythesis.

We're all still a work in progress. Gotta get more functionality going and advertisements that'll hopefully bring in dough so we never have to worry about being shut down.

We'll see where we go... I predict great places. :thumbs:
