Okay, a trend that I've noticed with anime is that a lot of them tend to make a series and then later make a movie that's supposedly a condensed retelling. Do these things really work? I'm curious because I've never seen them, but I just can't see it. The new Trigun movie, Trigun X is supposed to be, IIRC, the continuation of Trigun, Trigun Maximum. Which so far is 15 volumes. If it is..no way. They couldn't even accurately do Mai-HiMe, which was only 5 volumes in 26 episodes. You also see this alot with Gundam series. First MSG and now Zeta, both retold with 3 movies, which really equates to about 9 episodes. I just don't see how you can retell a 48-50 episode tale in only 270 minutes, but I want everyone else's opinion. Specifically those who have seen the Gundam movies and the series as well.
