Sega Saturn

New games I won't pirate. I enjoy the actual ownership of franchises I love too much.

Collecting I could see. Some friend of mine have gorgeous museums of still working old consoles like the TurboDuo and so forth. It looks cool, but.. yeah, my cash isn't that disposable these days.

I still to this day play my Saturn. I always felt the system was underrated, considering it had a decent selection of games. Virtua Fighter 2, Panzer Dragoon, NiGHTS, etc..

I use to play online with Netlink but it was brutally slow and laggy at times. Of course in its defense that was over a decade ago.

....and to think, we almost saw Shenmue on the Saturn.

I'm always scoping out pawn shops, discount stores, places like Good will and the like. I have come across some great finds. I found an atari 5200 for 5 bucks at a St. Vincent one day a few months ago.

I have to agree. After it gets to a certain point, the companies are no longer making any money off a game. Unless they start reissuing games, Sega isn't making a cent off of any Saturn sales anymore, even if you find a game new in a store. I have the games i wanted from back when they were regularly priced, but if i didn't i wouldn't think twice about burning a copy of Guardian Heroes or Panzer Dragoon Saga these days.

I still own a Sega Saturn that I bought back in 1998.
I own the action replay 4 M plus card from Hong Kong.

It allows you to play import games but not cd-r copies.

I have a samll japanese video game collection for it so far.

Most of which I bought e-bay for really decent prices.

I have a Lupin III game, 2 Evangelion games, 2 Dragon Ball Z games,
Mobile suit gundam, Mobile suit gundam side story 1-3. Just to name a few.

Most of these games can be found on Ebay from seller from HK.

Keep looking and you can find them for a decent price.

One thing to take into consideration are things like the Virtual console and xbox live. The companies make money off those games. Take Secret of mana. Yes you can pirate it, but since it is up for a legitimate purchase, that makes the company money, I support using those services.

SEGA >NEEDS< to get up off their asses and bring Guardian Heroes to LIVE and PSN.

They could have my money the day that dropped.

I can see your point about older games. My real problem is people pirating newer stuff. I used to do it a lot. I don't want to see the game makers go out of business.

Nah, I'm not into pirating games you could actually purchase from a retailer. Saturn and back are really the only systems I could feel right about modding. No one is making money from them... except collectors. :/

I totally see what you mean, though. It is a lot cooler when you actually own a hard copy.

I used to (In a way still do*) have a Saturn. One of the best controller setups, and bad ass games like Guardian Heroes, Virtual-On and Mega Man 8.
