I had a Saturn long ago when it first came out, I loved it. It had some damn fun games. Recently I was at a game store when I saw one... 40 bucks with 4 games. I was skeptical. Most saturns you see like that are broken. This one was in perfect condition. I put in a new battery, and fired it up. Four hours later after playing Virtua Fighter 2, I was in love with the system again.
I just won an auction for Shining the holy Ark. I wanted Shining Force 3, but the cheapest one I found was 150 bucks... Ouch. I plan on getting more games for this system. Does anyone know of any places outside ebay that sell Saturn games?
Actually... 150 is a pretty low price for Shining Force III in english, I've seen them run anywhere up to 400+ for a unopened copy. Thankfully i got the game when it actually came out before all the insanity (along with the import version of scenarios 1-3 and the ever rare premium disc. As for where to buy Saturn games, there are a lot of places in so cal where you can still pick up used (and even some new) saturn games. You just need to know where to look.
Unless you want to spend hundreds of dollars per game, modding is the way to go (especially since emulation, while it's come a long way, is still pretty bad). Most of the games I've bought have been from Ebay though.

I don't mod my systems anymore. I had a complete change of heard regarding that. I think people should pay for their games, and if they don't have the money they can wait. All these people pirating DS games and stuff.... :shakefist

When it comes to hard to find games that're out of print on extinct systems, I disagree. Paying 110+ bucks is only going to some dude on eBay and not a cent of that goes back to the developer.
When it comes to that, I have no shame about how I'm playing Snatcher on my PSP.

I can see your point about older games. My real problem is people pirating newer stuff. I used to do it a lot. I don't want to see the game makers go out of business.
As far as older stuff goes, I just enjoy collecting games. I love finding the older games, manual intact, posters in the box, opening them up, and feeling the wave of nostalgia come over me. I mean I picked up Lunar 1 for Sega cd the other day. Original box, manual, it had everything. It was great.
