Sean McKeever Leaves Teen Titans

Hm. Well, at least he's staying with Ravager. I wasn't really so keen on his writing but I really enjoyed some of his storylines and characterisation for Ravager/ Red and Blue. Any news on a replacement?

He was the best writer Teen Titans had in years, especially when Geoff Jones departed, and was the perfect voice for the modern group, which I beleive is the best ensemble of consistent characters since the Wolfman era. Ravager is exactly why I love the concept and I'm glad she's getting the focus she deserves. At least Sean isnt departing entirely, I think eventually he'll write at least one story if his Ravager back-up crosses back to the main Titans arc.

He's also the transistional writer on Titans until Judd Winik can be replaced (he's now writing Batman), I don't like where he's going with it (Judd did a great job fixing what OYL took from Jone's run), but I hope everything is back where it is before he leaves.

Thank God. Both he and Winnick are responsible for dragging the Titans franchise into total obscurity after the editorially engineered departure of Geoff Johns. His two major failures imo was his inability to get out from the shadow of his predecessors as his run consisted entirely of recycling characters and concepts from Geoff Johns' run of Titans and also his inability to make either Wondergirl or Robin likable after the character assassination committed on them in Amazons Attack and Return of Ra's Al Ghul respectively. Hopefully DC gives him a writing gig more suited to his talents such as Green Arrow/Black Canary.

For my money, I'd just retcon everything during OYL and go back to where Jones had posistioned everyone. Beast Boy and Raven as a couple leading the Titans next generation really appealed to me...now there acting like teenagers again and there practically all in their thirties.

C'mon.

Correction....Beast Boy's like in his 20's and Raven is in a new body that looks like a seventeen year-old teenager, plus she back in high school trying to live a normal life. Or, maybe the writers are making them lie about their ages.

I forget.

I heard they retconned it so Raven is now in her early twenties again

Marv Wolfman was the one that wanted Raven back in High School, but that was way back in 2005. Judd's direction, however flawed, wanted to ignore all of that and return to what Geoff had worked hard in developing. I liked how he also resolved Dick and Kori's relationship.
