[Anime] Saint Seiya Omega - Talk Up!

Is that manga going to cover the entire first season?

Also, I've finally managed to catch up to the show. I loved the episodes that closed out Sonia's story once and for all, really great stuff there. I didn't care for the next couple of episodes, but everything since 45 on has been great. It's a shame that this entire arc wasn't appealing as these last couple of episodes, it felt like there was so much wasted time on the Gold Saints and I just didn't care about them. Really excited for the finale now though, those last few episodes have been a great job of bringing back everything I love about the show.

I haven't heard anything about what the manga will be about. The picture seems to show Kouga wearing the Pegasus cloth for the first time so it's most likely going to be about the first season.

I'm hoping it will follow Xros Wars manga set up of telling a modified version of the anime plot.

If so, I hope that, unlike the Xros Wars manga, it gets scanlations before the whole thing is done. The Xros Wars manga is only getting regular translations now, and that's a shame because it's so good.

But I'm getting off-topic. I definitely agree that Sonia's death was a really good moment, despite the sad ending of it. At first I found it pretty wrong that she was given the Scorpio Cloth since she clearly wasn't Gold Saint material, but the whole thing was done really well despite this.

I disagree that everything from it onwards was great though. Ionia was really badly handled. Kind of a waste, really, considering his connection to the new Saints. And Mars' defeat feels...kind of wrong too honestly. This guy was meant to be stronger than goddamn Sagittarius Seiya, but he's beaten by Kouga and Eden?

The rest, however, is great. Amor's fight from beginning to end was amazing, as was his character. Mars' fight, despite the rather bizarre ending (fitting in-story, but debatable otherwise), was also great, showing more of Eden's character and connections, something that definitely separates him from Ikki, even when he's clearly molded after the old Phoenix Saint (who, by the way, is STILL nowhere to be found. C'mon, Jabu, Ichi and Geki appeared, Ikki was far more important!)

Can't wait for the finale, and I'm sure hoping the second season doesn't drop the ball, despite some rather unsettling changes (is a Steel Saint really needed Toei? I don't think I know a single person that doesn't hate them...)

I definitely agree with you regards to Ionia. There was definitely a need for two episodes to cover his end since he is supposedly the strongest of the Golds. Mar's death really didn't work because of the substandard animation. I believe if they had a better team animating that episode, I think we would have been sold on the idea that Kouga and Eden could have beaten him.

The problem is that Saint Seiya has a sad track record when it comes to English manga translation and scanlation.

Leaked design sheets for Kouga in the next season.

I watched episode 50 and sure, Seiya finally appeared... but I was disappointed. His return was somewhat lackluster, COME ON TOEI! It's Saint Seiya HIMSELF! He's supposed to be the one who will finally free Kouga from the demonic possession! They should have shown Seiya to be fully recovered and very powerful as compensation for his long absence. Yes, powerful enough to prove everyone even the dark god that HE IS THE BOSS!

And instead of just Yuna alone, all 5 of Kouga's friends should work together to bring their buddy back! At least Kouga got to use the Sagittarius Cloth.

Apsu is a God. HE IS THE BOSS! Seiya even at his best shouldn't be able to defeat him.

I don't want to go into shipping territory, but if you watch all of SSO, the person closest to Kouga is Yuna. All the others leave and abandon him at one time or another (even Souma the supposed best friend). Much of the relationship between Kouga and Yuna in the second half with the Gold Saints is defined by her promise to save him from the darkness. It only makes sense that she is the one that exorcises Apsu.

I think Toei did a good job in finding a way for Seiya not to steal the new characters thunder without undermining his abilities.

Despite having almost half of his body covered in dark wounds, Seiya was the only character that managed to hold his own against Abzu and even managed to briefly overpower him, but with that many hindrances it's logical that he couldn't win by himself.

Apsu isn't the boss - it's Athena. Apsu can kiss the soles of Saori's (and Seiya's) shoes once Kouga is done with him. I admit I wasn't exposed that much to the original series (but I think it's much cooler than Omega, I think), but they should have shown how much Seiya had grown as a Gold Saint and as a hero. For Pete's sake, as far as I know the Sagittarius Cloth has the ability to combine the powers of the other 11 through his bow and arrow (?) - how I wish all 12 Gold Saints work together again to vanquish evil like in the days of Seiya.

I understand man, Seiya and the gang once had an enemy that shattered all their Gold Cloths to trash. Maybe that's what you mean - I just happen to think of Seiya as a powerful hero but a team player. But hey, you might have a point... that's why Yuna is willing to go that far because she likes Kouga. Probably.

I can see it in her face as she looked at Kouga post-exorcism. Don't get me wrong I like the show. In fact, I loved the part when Seiya allowed Kouga to borrow his Gold Cloth.
