I kind of like the idea of this show introducing new Steel Clothes. It seems like it's trying to pay homage to everything from the old show. I just hope this Subaru isn't like Tagiru in Xros Wars Part III and takes the spotlight from everyone else.

Well, Tagiru was introduced as the new protagonist, but Subaru seems to be taking Souma's or Eden's role instead of Kouga's.

I see desperate cash grab written all over it. It looks like they rushed the ending for the first season of Omega with regards to the last few Gold Saints, the Shitennou and the final villain. It looks to me like the story could have sustained another twenty more episodes. Bandai and Toei probably say the ratings and decided that a more episodic premise like the first half would have been better for ratings

Not really. In an article Toei mentioned that they ordered more episodes for Omega, that means the series was originally meant to end around ep50.

I just saw this in another board. It seems like the staff of the 2nd season will be different.

That gives me absolutely no hopes, and far more fear of this series going down the drain. That'd be sad, I'm actually enjoying this, it's grown on me. I admit I hated it at first (especially from the sheer amount of changes from the original, which was one of the first anime I ever saw, if not flat-out the very first), but there's quite a few things it did and does that I find actually kind of interesting.

On that note, I seriously love how almost every time we have a super determinator moment in which the hero breaks out with sheer WILL FORCE and powers up and ****...they get beaten up just as hard if not even harder than before. It's the kind of thing I'd like to see more often. Koga vs Amor in this episode was a pretty good example of this.

I'd just like it to be a bit more consistent. I mean, Eden should be near-death, and both Eden and Koga should be extremely tired...yet both are perfectly fine. I get that they had to continue the fight, since Amor and Medea are still up but...it kind of irks me. It would've been the perfect moment to bring the heroic Gold Saints to help, too.

I definitely agree with your sentiments. The creative team especially the writers really defined the series with their characters and those anti-asspull moments. I at least hope they don't make Yuna useless in the second season. But really the new stuff like Subaru doesn't bode well for the second series.

From what I gather (from other forums) this seems to be the case, but there is no confirmation for any of it yet.

The "new staff" is based on the credits listed for the first episode of the 2nd season in the scan.

I guess it's not a complete confirmation though, but usually the main staff is the one handling first episodes, so it'd be odd if they had a secondary group handling the first episode of the second season.
