Ryuki's finale vs. Spielban's finale

Many people weren't fond of Ryuki's "rewind/erase" finale. The argument usually is that Ryuki's finale made pointless everything that happened to Shinji and Co. But what about Spielban's? To those who have seen both shows are not fans of Ryuki's ending, what is it about the Spielban ending that makes it better?

Spielban's finale didn't throw away any character growth. It didn't make the entire series a pointless waste of time. The three heroes altered time and restored their planet by eliminating Waaraa/Pandora in the past, but they retained their memory of the series' events, they still experienced the series' events, even when they were returned to their own timeline on Clin. Like, I imagine Helen would still be aware of her actions as Hellvira and still want to atone, for example. In Ryuki, we watched Shinji mature and Ren grow a heart, but the series ends at square one -- Shinji's an immature moron and Ren's a heartless thug again, and that as far as we know, they'll never have an opportunity to evolve.

The time element was also just so out of place in Ryuki, and Kobayashi is never able to pull it off successfully. Spielban had hints throughout the show, and even in the last verse of its theme song!

Yeah, Kobayashi's time-travel stuff is pretty half-baked in Den-O, too.

(Have you watched someone try to explain Den-O to someone who isn't into tokusatsu? It's comedy gold, it is.)

I guess I'll be odd one out and say that I thought Ryuki's ending was decent despite the Time jazz. Yes Shinji is an idiot again, yes Ren is stone cold, and yes all 49 episodes before were all for not. But that's the beauty of it all. Its bittersweet to see all Shinji & Ren's experiences as nothing more than another lifetime but in return there's resolution for the Kanzaki sibs, Shinji & Kitaoka & Tezuka don't croak, and I'd assume Ren has Eri alive and well.
Spielban had a great ending but when I compare it to Ryuki's, I ask myself was it too happy happy? Again, for me Ryuki was bittersweet.

People are too hard on Ryuki's finale, which I still say is the best Heisei Rider finale.

It still surprises me that Kobayashi wrote 3 toku shows dealing with time travel. Out of the whole time travel plots. I though TimeRanger was the best one.
