[Rumor] NINTENDO POWER is shutting down

Just a rumor. Nothing firmly confirmed yet, as far as I know.

That would be a damn shame as I still subscribe to the magazine, ever since the very first issue. But, Im not surprised. The magazine doesnt provide any interesting or valuable information. All of it's exclusives can be found weeks early or even months early on the internet. But to be honest, I always preferred Nintendo Power over other gaming magazines. All the other mags are filled with endless advertisements and crappy, half-assed articles. Nintendo Power actually has content, at least. Though I miss the days when I could proudly say NP didnt have ads.

But with the internet, and internet gaming information sites, a Nintendo magazine is just pointless. What they should do is make Nintendo Power a fully functional gaming news website like IGN or Gamespot. That way they can release web exclusive news before the other major sites and update on an instant basis.

Provided that the rumor is true, I would sad to see it go,

then again.. I stopped reading Nintendo Power ever since it's N64 days, though I think I still have my issue 1 messed up somewhere in my room. ..That was a really good magazine back in the day. (Even better when there wasn't an internet to fall back onto to look up cheat-codes or whatever else) Plus, the Howard & Nester comics were amusing.

...Then I remember the whole silly drama that came from Nintendo Power when people were sick and tired of comics (Like the Zelda and Star Fox) comics appeared and wanted them out. Silly Silly times..

Over-all, I thought it was a great magazine, I haven't ready it recently, as I stopped subscribing when all they did was talk about the N64 and it's complete awesomeness nonstop before it was even out. Bleh.

..But, I'm sure it's still better then most of the others out there.

Agreed. Those were done --really-- well, my only grip about the Zelda one was the ending, which was like: "..Wah?" but the rest of em, well... most of them were pretty good, Mario was funny, Zelda was interesting. If I recall, I wasn't too fond of the Star Fox one, and Metroid one was pretty neat.

Though, I didn't mind the comics cause I'd rather read about that, rather then say.. 'filler' stuff about some game coming out in a year, or some controller or something.

But hey, that's just me.
