Romance: Is it Worth the Hassle?

Well... It depends. I say it's worth the hassle finding the one you were meant to be with because let's face it, no person, be it a guy or a girl is an island, and I truly do believe that there's someone for everyone. If you love someone for who they truly are and not for their material possessions or how big their pocketbooks are, then I say romance is worth the hassle. If someone loves you just for material possessions, or how big your pocketbook is, or just for their physical appearances alone, then it's not really worth it. Then again, liking someone for material possessions or any other reason can't really be called love or romance, now can it?

(Though this could be considered ramble from a toku fan who is a hopeless romantic... )

Yes. Just cause a few nerds get all jaded since they can't get out and find someone doesn't mean that it's not for everyone. In fact, I believe some (but not all) of the best moments in life are those shared with a significant other. Romance being a "hassle"? Come on. I don't mean to be harsh, but grow a pair (that's directed at the original poster, whoever they may be.)

To me, the problem is that because being romantically involved with someone else is so glammed-up in the media, too many people believe that being in a relationship is the most important thing to do in life. This is definitely not the case. People should seek to be happy in a way that best suits them, not how they're told to do it.

That's not to say that falling in love isn't a great feeling, though. It's nothing short of magical when you can find someone to relate to on every level and be able to confide in. However, you need to find the right person, and not just place all hope in the first person to cut you a break. It's that sort of thing that leads some people to believe that the world's coming to an end when they get heartbroken.

So to answer your question, if there's any real "hassle", then it's probably not true love.

YES

Faiz is my first boyfriend (admittedly not my first love), and he makes me happy in so many ways that NO ONE ELSE has. He's amazing. Even when we have our ups and downs, he is the only one who can make me feel better about **** going on in my life.

Now, he's not the most romantic man alive, but I can tell he really cares by the little things he does for me, and you know what? If he can wait this 2 and a half years and this long distance crap for me...then I know I'm worth something to him.

Depends on the significant other, if you have something to gain from the relationship (ala its not onesided) then sure its worth the hassle. That also depends what said hassle is and what your definition of hassle is. But really for a good relationship thats not out of some dumb romance movie there shouldn't be any hassle.
