Ridley Scott reveals ALIEN Prequel is coming!

That's cool:thumbs: I've only seen Alien and Aliens (haven't seen 3 and ressurection yet) so a prequel sounds cool with me.

3 was actually better then I thought. 4 was ok.

We have a prequel, it's called Aliens vs. Predators.
Takes place years before the original.
That's as prequelish as it gets.

Yeah, If you really wanna look at it... Predator could also be a prequel aswell. I just hope Scott doesn't take a giant leak on the AVP franchise while doing this.

Alien 3 sucked, Alien Resurrection sucked, AVP 1 and 2 sucked, but if anyone can make another decent film out of it it's him. My excitement dropped a bit when it said it's to be in 3D though.

Resurrection was alright, nothing special. I just didn't like that Hybrid Alien smashing the Queen to peices. ALIENS made the Queen look badass and pt.4 made it look weak. I will admit tho, that hybrid had a creepy design.

I gotta disagree with u on the AVP movies... I fuvken loved them. Took 2 times for me to like the 2nd one tho.

The only other movie I have a minor complaint about is the original Alien movie. It was great, but just too slow.

Ridley Scott offered a few specifics about his still-untitled Alien Prequel in an interview with The Independent.

"The films will be really tough, really nasty," says Scott of the proposed two-part prequel, which he says will take place 30 years before the first film, "It's the dark side of the moon. We are talking about gods and engineers. Engineers of space. And were the aliens designed as a form of biological warfare? Or biology that would go in and clean up a planet?"

Scott refers to the first film's Space Jockey, part of a mysterious race of giants that carried the alien egg as their cargo. A mystery in the first film, the creature's origins have not been explored in subsequent entries to the franchise.

Two prequel films are being prepped to shoot back-to-back in 3D. The original script comes from Jon Spaihts with Damon Lindelof currently doing touch-ups.

The release also marks the debut of MU-TH-UR Mode, a fully interactive companion that takes the extensive materials in the ALIEN ANTHOLOGY and puts them in the user’s hand – connecting fans to special features on all six discs and instantly providing an index of all available ALIEN content, including over 60 hours of special features and over 12,000 images. ALIEN ANTHOLOGY will also be available in a Limited Edition Collector’s Set featuring ‘The Guardian’ – an exclusive illuminated egg statue sculpted by Sideshow Collectibles®.

The ALIEN ANTHOLOGY is a truly unique home entertainment experience. For the first time ever, the studio has united the material from every home video release of the ALIEN saga including the 1991/1992 laserdisc releases, the 1999 “Legacy†release and 2003’s groundbreaking ALIEN QUADRILOGY release into one complete Blu-ray collection. Alien 3 sucked, Alien Resurrection sucked, AVP 1 and 2 sucked, but if anyone can make another decent film out of it it's him.

Eh, I don't know about that. Ripley Scott has been pretty disappointing over the years, since his last films were turdlicious & plain out boring to me (Robin Hood, Body of Lies, etc). So will see, but I'm not giving an ounce of hope for it.

Ya know, I was just wondering to myself "ya know, that fat alien guy at the controls in the abandoned ship, I wonder what amazing story he had?"

Who gives a damn about where the aliens came from, they're just there killing people! It's more interesting having that mystery around them then just explaining how they came about.
