So, I was playing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and got to the part where Red XIII finally makes it home. And let me tell you, I was shook when he started chatting with his old pals. You know how in Part 1 he's all tough and manly? Well, turns out, when he's with his crew, he's like a totally different dude. His voice goes from badass to super cute and adorable in a heartbeat. It's like he's got this whole other side to him that we never saw coming. And man, did it catch me off guard, but in the best way possible.

Oh, it's so funny to hear Red alternate between his deep, gentlemanly voice and that of a teenager. If he's about a teenager's age, then this makes perfect sense. He was stolen as a younger pup, thus a decent way to appear "more mature" to a species that can't tell how old you are is to put on an older and more mature voice.

The original lacked this aspect because there was no voice acting. Now that we have a voiced over version, it appears the writers were attempting to highlight the original sentence, "I think I grew up a little," by making Red XIII sound like a teenager posing as an older man, alluding to how slowly he ages. To say the least, it's an intriguing artistic liberty.

He is actually a teenager but since he is a talking animal, He use it as an advantage to pretend to be older so Cloud and company will think he is older and wiser

I found Red's change in disposition remarkable. When surrounded by his closest pals, he appears to remove his armor and show his genuine personality. It provides a degree of authenticity to his character that resonates emotionally with the player. Cosmo Canyon was clearly a turning point for Red XIII; it's where he confronts his past and accepts his heritage, resulting in a substantial shift in his mentality.

I was surprised when I first heard his teen voice, but I actually like it, even though I like his other voice. I adore this game. That does not include the finale or Red's unexpected new voice twist. What were they thinking…

I'm not a fan of this; he sounded so badass that I'm not sure whether he was trying to come across that way. You can't make him seem cool for 50 hours and then turn him into a twelve-year-old; he doesn't even sound like a teen. They've severely harmed this character with this. I'm fine with the vocal change, but god, make him sound older. It's so bad that I missed all of his cutscenes throughout the trial for his father. Of all the plot alterations they've made, this is one I should not have maintained. To be honest, the character was pretty much ruined. I absolutely adored his original voice and despise this one. The new voice sounds so forced aswell, it doesn’t feel natural.
