For actual releases:

G Gundam
Gundam SEED
Cowboy Bebop
BERSERK
Naruto
Record of Lodoss War (but personally, I'd have to recommend skipping the next series)
Fatal Fury Trilogy
Chrono Crusade
Rurouni Kenshin
Full Metal Alchemist
Zatch Bell
Yu Yu Hakasho

All the above are what I seriously consider A-List.
I endorse this list, and I add Samurai Champloo.

Don't bother it will just look like crap, but you can give it a try if you wish. but it wouldn't be worth it quality wise.

a good program to use is ulead dvd workshop 2, that is what i use to create my sets. this site is also helpful if you want to do it - www.digitalfaq.com

at the moment that site is down, but i can give you some info how to do it if you want to do it. Just PM me if you want the info.

Well, I've got a 17" Ultra High Def Widescreen on my laptop with a 256mb video card, so the quality looks astounding, I just prefer a larger screen a bit further away. In that regard, I have a 48" widescreen HDTV (although the AV cables won't make use of the HD) that should have a similar display quality to the laptop, just on a much bigger screen.

Same author same style except it's the author's work before Ranma. It's zany and silly instead of martial arts it involves a lot of crazy alien technology. Because the main female character is an alien who is in love with a human. But the male is a real skirt chaser, which makes for fun situations. The cast basically consist of the alien girl, Lum, her love interest Ataru, and some Ataru's classmates like a small group of guys who made a club called the Lum Stormtroopers their goal is to try and steal Lum away from Ataru, :P Also Ataru's ex-girlfriend Shinobu, and later introduces characters like Mendou, Ran, etc. It's Rumiko Takahashi's longest anime and she is most famous for it in Japan. Especially because the character Lum was modelled after a swimsuit model back in the 70s known as Agnes Lum.
Yeah, Urusei Yatsura was a great show ... I remember having lots of laughs when I first saw it and it's one of those rare anime shows that both boys and girls alike could enjoy.
Didn't know Lum was fashioned after a real life swimsuit model ... interesting bit of info.

Interesting! Might I be as bold as to ask what type of notebook you have (brand, type, etc)?

Here's what I would recomend...
G Gundam- Fight Club w/ robots!!
Record of Lodoss War OVA- Simply STUNNING...really cool!
Trigun- Guns and stuff.
Gungrave- From the creator of Trigun...more gun goodness!
Escaflone- Knights & Mechs
Starblazers- They're off to outerspace...one of the GREATEST space opera's!
Zone of the Enders OVA & I Deloris- The greatness of the game in a series.
GaoGaiGar- One of the BEST anime's about heroes & big robots
Gravion & Gravion Zewi- Robots, boobies....fanservice all the way!
Goldenboy- Only watch if you want to laugh your ass off!
Cultrual Cat Girl Nuku Nuku- a cat's brain in a schoolgirl robot body...let comedy insue...and insue it does!

is this the correct order to watch it by up to the current season? - Mobile Suit Gundam, Zeta Gundam, Gundam MSG, Gundam ZG, Gundam ZZ, Gundam, V Gundam, 08th MS team,
Gundam 0083, Gundam 0080, Gundam F-91, G Gundam, Gundam Wing, Gundam X, Turn-A Gundam, Gundam SEED, Gundam SEED Destiny.
Mobile Suit Gundam and MSG are the same thing

UC Timeline - Mobile Suit Gundam(full series), Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket(six episode OVA), 08th MS Team (12 episode OVA)Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory(13 episode OVA), Zeta Gundam (full series), ZZGundam (full series, allthough you can actually skip this one this it doesn't really effect any storylines...and it really sucked), Chars Counterattack(movie), Gundam F91(movie), V Gundam (movie)

All those take place in the same time line, most other Gundam shows you can watch in any order because they're set in different worlds. Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED Destiny are in the same world though and you should watch those in order.

Dell Inspiron 9300. Just picked it up for Christmas, woot!

I'll second/third/fourth the nominations for Escaflowne.

Also, another anime that is pretty interesting/fun to watch, and only has 26 episodes, is called Soul Hunter. I'd recommend it.

DB-For comedy and action/adventure.(Available in DUB UNCUTS/BOX SET COMPLETE ORIGINAL JP.)
DBZ-You liked DB, you'll love the sequel! Sure, it's got some dull fillers and long fights, but it's interesting and badass villains. (DUB/UNCUT/JP UNCUT)
Digimon-(01/Tamers): 02 and Frontier were crap, watch these 2 seasons instead.
Yu-Yu Hakusho-Keith best explained it!

I would love to recommend something for you....
