Questions about buying a PSP

Here's that cheaper one I found, King.

Dunno how good it is, but... for 7 bucks, it's almost worth the gamble. Almost.

To be honest, go with a 2000 model, the 3ks have a greater history of getting bad pixels. I own both of the out puts that Sony release for the PSP and PSP go, they're just shy of 7 feet, but keep in mind that you are NOT going to get full screen resolution on your games, movies will, but games will be in an black box on the screen. Still way bigger than the PSP screen, but keep in mind that limitation.

If Sony would push their back catalog for the GO, I'd actually recommend that over the 2k if you don't plan to mod it, since you can sync it up to a PS3 controller to make TV output that much better. Downside of that though, is that you need to have access to a PS3 for the first sync.

I remember that the 2k/Slim has an attachment that lets you hold it like a PS2 controller. Does the 3k model have that too? Because the way I hold my PSP, my fingers get tired and they cramp...

I think the 2k and 3k are exactly the same as far as their size and shape goes. I think the biggest difference is the screen... maybe the built in microphone too? Dunno if the 2k had that.

Why not just wait for the NGP model? The newest PSP that's coming out. If you're definitely getting one, there's no need for whomever to spend a couple hundred bucks on a PSP that's about to be outdated.

I'm getting it for myself, and I have no desire to buy an NGP. I am going to pick up a used psp for around 60-99 bucks. I just wanted to make sure I got a model that did out to tv. I wouldn't buy an NGP either way.

Yeah, if that's the case, then you just need a Video-out cable with the 3.5mm jack connector, which are the ones used for headphones to computers and MP3 players. I think the ones for the PSP only have the 3.5mm this card-looking thing, like the one I pointed out from Best Buy (I might do that myself, TBH...), the one Algo Fonix posted, or [ame=http://www.amazon.com/PSP-Component-Cable-Sony/dp/B0016D18FG/ref=sr_1_4?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1297321793&sr=1-4]this thing[/ame].

Might get one of those myself, actually...

Edit: I'd actually just go for the 6.99 one Algo Fonix posted. It may be $2 more expensive, but it has more reviews (2 5-star reviews and 1 4.5-star reviews) than that one singular 5-star review. It's better than getting the brand-name from Best Buy.

Why though? The current PSP model will soon not be supported. You would be buying a dead machine. Plus the older UMD games that were released for PSP will be re-released in card format and online download format for you to play so you won't be missing out.

Anywho, I dont know where you are going for that used system. But if you're going to gamestop, the website says the original PSP (the one without video out jack for the TV) is 99$

The PSP 3000 is 129 (which is honestly what you would want in terms of functionality, as it's only 10$ more than a slim)

Because a PSP is cheap. The NGP won't be cheap and there is nothing on it I want. And what's your point about a dead machine? I bought a replacement Dreamcast last month, and I bought a replacement Sega Genesis 5 months ago.

I don't buy used systems at gamestop. Used games yes, used systems not a chance. I am getting it at a local game store here.

Like others have said the PSP3000 has the dead pixel issue.
