Question about Night of the Living Dead

Was it meant to be shown in fullscreen or widescreen? I was looking for a DVD of it and all of them, even the Millennium version (the best one) is in full screen.

However, on IMdB, it said the 35mm prints, of which was used to make the DVD, was widescreen.

Can anyone tell me if the movie was supposed to be in widescreen?

Given the budget and technical conditions of the film's production, I'd say IMDB's 1.85: 1 listing is either a misprint or an assumption. I doubt there is a widescreen print of NOTLD out there, and it would be especially hard to find now that the film is public domain and there's about twenty bajillion different versions available (and most are from the same print).

Let me get back to you. My friend actually has that exact same copy. I can ask him if his is widescreen or not.
