I don't usually become indignant when I hear reports like this, because most of the time I don't approve of the greed and selfishness that makes people think they're entitled to leech copyrighted products at will with impunity, but this is pretty bullshit. Not only are we forced to pay exorbitant fees to ISPs for access to the internet, which is a nebulous thing that nobody should rightfully be able to "own," but now we're being told what we can and can't do with a service after we've paid for it. Notice that that report mentioned nothing about suspending or terminating service for customers who violate copyright laws. They're going to keep charging and just play God with connection speeds and webpage access, so in effect violators will be proportionally paying more and more for less actual service rendered.
I'm not in disagreement about protecting copyright and I recognize that it must and will be done, but this is definitely not the right way to go about doing it.
