Prince of Persia (2008)

I'm loving this game but the Warrior fight is really making me hate those quick-time events where you have to keep tapping a button...freakin' irritating.

I didnt like the warrior fight at first either. Then I figured out how to easily get him off the edge. Still hes a slow and cumbersome fight so its not my favorite boss

I need to replay to redo the warrior and concubine fights since i missed their special trophies.. I don't care much for the button mashing either, but i love the concept of the warrior, and how you can't actually fight him, instead having to out think / out maneuver him.

I'm a huge fan of the Prince of Persia series, and I was stoked when it got a hi-fi overhaul for the new millenium, but this most recent entry in the series (is it a deviation? Another overhaul? A restart?) has me pretty frustrated and disappointed. Granted, I haven't played the game, but the fact that they decided to completely scrap the old Prince's story and start fresh with this new kid, combined with the way overdone anime/fantasy visuals really turns me off. Nothing about the previous trilogy said that the Prince's adventure had to be over; I feel like PoP 2008 is an attempt to cash in on the kind of trendy candy-colored sword-and-sorcery Japanese imitations coming out lately. I'll pass.

I'd at least rent it, if you enjoyed the past games. There's nothing saying they cant go back to the old Prince's story and continue it later. Something tells me though that the developers wanted to do something new and were getting tired of writing for the same characters.

The new prince is pretty kewl so far and I like Elika. They both have refreshing personalities.

is this game any good when compared to the sand trilogy?? what is the difficulty level...?

it's definitely more forgiving than the sands games (which were infinitely more forgiving than the original trilogy) I think this games design gives it more of an open world feeling, though it's just as restrictive as the sands game were in where you can, cannot go, and just how far constitutes a death fall. The game's admittedly short, but all around it's a solid game. Definitely at least worth a rent. If I had to compare it to the sands games, I'd say that I like the free running parts better in this generation, but the combat in the last series was way better.

Its fine on its own but compared to the Sands of Time trilogy it just seriously pales, in terms of gameplay, story, difficulty, characters, and length (you could probably beat it within three to four hours). Granted the first installment in the Sands of Time trilogy was one of the best games of the 2000's period.

not being able to die in a game totally kills the challenge in my book...Two Thrones was the best PoP game i played and stealth kills ROCKS...:buttrock:
