Man, I love Tzachor. PR fans hate him because some of them can't accept the fact that Power Rangers is the American adaptation of Sentai. Even he uses too much Sentai material, most of the Tzachor era PR stayed true to the source material even some of them have deep yet original storylines.

Judd Lynn preferring campy PR to serious PR? I thought he wanted Turbo to be a comedy-themed Sentai show just like Carranger. In PR in Space, he still on the go to the "space war" themes despite from Megaranger's video game themes; guess what, he offered us a kickass PR show with a serious tone and an epic finale. And the rest is history when he wrote for Lost Galaxy to Time Force.

Altough he prefers campy PR, maybe he wants to make a PR show close to its Sentai counterpart like Tzachor.

A few years back (im talking 2004 or 2005) someone posted a history of Judd Lynn (it might of been written by Judd or interview) that explained Judd's involvement in every Power Rangers season until he left in Time Force. In that article it mentioned that there was supposed to be more episodes of Time Force than TimeRanger and there was even supposed to be a Time Force movie. 9/11 happened and Saban got scared and pulled out. They canceled some episodes of Time Force forcing Judd to change his plans for the direction the series was going and ultimately him quitting the show.

Oh, man. Just like Goro Taniguchi was pissed because Sunrise changed the timeslot for Code Geass R2, the same fate happened to Lynn. Too bad we didn't see his vision for Time Force.:disappoin

I find it hard to believe that Judd Lynn, the man who single handedly wrote the last 4 Saban seasons, is even capable of destroying a story.

I'll wait and see though, it could just be a couple of writers, as opposed to the entire production crew.

Im sure Bruce is very happy to not be the EP for PR anymore. Put yourself in Bruce's shoes how annoyed would you feel if you are in charge of a children's series with alot of adult fans. Im pretty sure when Bruce was asked to be the EP he didnt expect to have a adult fan crowd to deal with besides the young kids. Im sure he had enough of the pressure the fans put on him.

well in all fairness we have what appears to be two different attitudes regarding PR's direction.

"Timely and Relevant" vs. "fun and exciting".

From the sounds of it, Eddie wanted to do a more serious show that raises some eyebrows, isn't afraid of addressing some issues PR has NEVER tackled before and make the overall tone of the series darker and slightly more mature.

The downside to that approach is you're immediately limiting your audience size and possibly driving people away from watching your show. Something you're not supposed to do when you're a basic cable program as compared to whatever's on HBO.

Lynn on the other hand, is as Skynight said, considered either PR's greatest writer by many or close to it. The question is now can he get this new cast to do something different from what Eddie told them.

Actually, we do, but we also appreciate it when a writer decides to stick two fingers up at the Sentai dishes the States out from time to time to "follow"

Only because they had no choice...yet whenever Lynn could find a way around it, he did (hell, the campy fights with Mettalisarous in Turbo are amongst the most serious episodes of the season...all because the new Rangers are played as straight men rookies and the villains are given all the fun lines and campy acting, Lynn loved that freedom, it made PR look badass whilst embracing Carranger's dopey style) Lynn wasnt a "realist", the instant he heard that the 2000 Sentai was "Timeranger", he drafted up a time travel arc that wasnt used...because he later found out that Timeranger had scaresely any time travel in it and all the Zord battles were set in the city. Stupid stunts like this demonstrate Toei's stubborness and refusal to bend things that can accomedate it's cousin over the boarder and create a diverse market. As it stands, Gingaman BOMBED in Japan where as Lost Galaxy didnt. You know why? LG WAS MORE ORIGINAL.

Lynn was always a fan of campier PR, but he also knew that "serioous PR" drew ratings...LG was the easiest to tweek to his liking because Gingman couldnt really work at all and the "space" angle had generated incredible ratings for Fox Kids, so Tzachor had enough common sense to let Lynn do what he wanted

When Sentai became more "accessible" again with GoGoV, it was buisness as usual. LR still gets away with more originality than TF ever did, but the signs were there that Sentai would be more prevailant

If Lynn can't work AROUND the Sentai, he'll embrace it (this is what happened with Time Force, which is the least fun he ever had on PR, yet is still in many fans top ten seasons ever)

So if Bruce loved working on PR what was the reason why he is not EP anymore?

Because he got another gig, something that Disney knew could be as big as Jett Jackson, the last project Bruce worked on, and why they hired him to helm PR with Greg.

He's not like any previous producer, who've been with the series since it's inception, Kalish is a big leauge guy and can't stay in one place.

Doug loved doing PR, but made his mind up that he would only do one other season for Disney and then pull out. If he wanted to, he could have stayed longer.

I ought to note people were still sucking his dick DURING the last episodes of SPD and pretty much up until Mystic Force before they realized he wasnt cut out for PR.

^Ya we all know that it was Doug's decision to leave PR. I am actually really glad he left us with one more great series. Without Doug there would be no JDF in DinoThunder!

I find Judd Lynn coming back is just as big as JDF coming back but in a different way. I still rember reading the DinoThunder press release and everyone going crazy when they least expect Tommy Oliver to be on it.

Jackie was the one who actually got JDF back for DT. She barely gets the credit she deserves for her hard work on the series
