"Power Rangers Origin" Trailer-Saban and Fans Interested

Some of you will be aware of this already, but there's a small trailer making the 'rounds on the internet that is seemingly being blocked at every turn by Saban. The trailer is a fully CGI animated battle between the classic MMPR team and a monster, culminating in a clash with a distinctly different Megazord. The trailer has a "Big Hero Six" vibe to it, and it concludes with Trini taking off her helmet and asking if the audience likes the new look of the Rangers.

Not much is known, but the fact Saban has it's eyes fixated on shutting it down has led to some feverish speculation.

Wouldn't it be funny if this was the movie Lions Gate movie? :P
Anyways, the CG for the mech looks kinda sluggish, but Trini looks pretty good.

EDIT: Okay I found and watched the trailer. It was pretty damn decent to be honest. The animation wasn't half bad and the mech actually looks really cool. I guess it was the lighting in the screenshot that Skyknight posted that made it look bad. The only downside was the Rangers looked kinda thin. As for their new look, their body suit is a plain color and only one white diamond in the center, and white shoulders. That's about it. Also the trailer ends with it saying the movie coming out in the summer.

I think Saban would be very smart to go for an animated movie. They could be more free to do all sorts of crazy stuff and it would have way more mainstream appeal than suit works.

Interesting! With animation like this, I really have nothing against it. I like it!...

...I do hope its a one time thing though

Well, after seeing that trailer, I gotta say... I'm on the fence about it.

Considering it's Power Rangers, I guess it makes sense they'd use a redesign of the ZyuRanger suits. To me, that's the one thing that kind of keeps me from wanting to support this. I would have preferred if, instead of some rebooted origins story, they had just went 100% original with nothing at all borrowed from Japan. But all in all, it's not bad. This is definitely as close as we're going to get as far as Saban making their own thing and having Power Rangers evolve into its own thing. It actually reminds me of what happened back in the day. Toei had offered to make their own original suits and Zords just for Power Rangers (I think there are scans of Toei's promotional art work for this floating around on the internet somewhere), but Saban turned them down because adapting the all ready existing footage was easier than paying for a collaboration. It's nice to see the idea of being something unique wasn't completely phased out after all these years.
