I don't even need to get into detail about this.

I voted Hurricanger as better. Hell, Barney the Dinosaur was better than this trash.

Well after that last trashy super camp of a season called Wild Force, I'm glad that Ninja Storm was what followed. To be honest, Wild Force is what almost made me stop watching. I hated almost every moment of it, the good parts were out weighed by everything that wasn't good. It wasn't just the bads and goods that every season had, Wild Force was just too much.

Anyway, onto Ninja Storm. I liked the story, even if it was close to Hurricanger in a sense. It did give one of the best extra ranger arcs we've had in a long while. It felt like it was going back to the old style with lots of great multiparters. The characters (mainly Dustin) may have been writtern a little odd, but that was only at certain times. And they were a lot better than the cardboard cutouts we'd been getting for a long time. One character wasn't enough to bring me down so I was able to get past Dustin easily. It wasn't like other seasons where I hated most of the cast. This was the first time in a long while we had teens as rangers, and it seemed like a pretty good return.

The sports part may have been overdone a bit, but at least it showed that the rangers had a life outside of being a ranger. And not just a one or two episode run, these were hobbies that were followed up upon later on in the season and really gave the feeling that these were somewhat normal kids. Power Ranger music has never really been good, but this theme was one of the better ones. A LOT better than the Wild Force theme I think, the parts that were kept from Sentai weren't over done like the whole' never give up' thing that Wild Force had running for it.

The mechs were nice, this was one of the first seasons that started breaking trends in Sentai. I liked the three part mech, the Thunder's were okay, but I liked the main Megazord itself a lot better. The Samurai Ranger's zord was pretty cool as well. I just didn't like the final fusion of all three Megazords, I don't even know how that thing was able to move, it was way too clunky for my liking.

As for other things, like I said, this was one of the Sentai that started the trend of breaking Sentai trends. For the first time we got more than one Red Ranger and one Blue Ranger. I thought that was great, I liked the story behind the death of their parents. I liked how they turned good, I loved the suits and the weapons that they had. It was cool seeing almost two different teams in one season for a while. I loved that we got different morphing calls so it really felt that they were all on different teams but just working together. The main suits for the main three were pretty good, first time in the US we had a yellow male (not counting AR) and a blue female. I know there is no way in Hell Saban would have let Hurricane Yellow be a male if his company still had the rights.

Overall it was a pretty solid season, the characters were good for the most part. The sports theme some think was overdone but I think it was given a good balance and showed they had lives outside of being rangers. The ninja student plot wasn't followed up all that great, almost as bad as the A-Squads. But in the end, Lothor showed how much of a villian he was, and for a kids show, yeah you gotta expect for there to be comedy in this. But Lothor's character knew when the shut up and start acting like a true villian. It was really one of the best seasons I'd seen in a while. And as the second season that Disney made, I liked this one better than Hurricanger.

Hm. My feelings on NS are VERY mixed. The "XTREME" sports thing they tried to do for the rangers pretty much got on my last nerve. Then there was the fact that they never explored the possibility of OTHER Ninja from different schools might try to show up. And why was it that the school of the WIND also had water and earth under its command. And why was there no red ranger that controlled fire??!! (That REALLY pissed me off. And don't ask why. It doesn't have to make sense, its my opinion.)

Before I got back into PR, I HATED NS. Almost as much as I hated the eco-rangers (aka, Wild Force). But last year, as they aired all the old seasons from In Space to this season (excluding Wild Force), I watched to see if it had any merit. I have to say--it didn't deserve all the hate I gave it for those rather simple reasons that I mentioned above. I loved the mechs, after all, and the little two-parter where Cam became the Samurai Ranger? AWESOME!

....

STILL, the list of PR Seasons goes like this:

MMPRs1
MMPRs2
Time Force
In Space
Zeo
Dino Thunder
Lost Galaxy
MMPRs3
Ninja Storm
SPD
Turbo
Lightspeed Rescue
Wild Force

I mean, fifth from the bottom. So while I don't despise it, there are other seasons I'd jump to see (Time Force or MMPRs1, for instance) given the choice between them and Ninja Storm.

That said--I LOVED the episode of Hurricanger I saw. Everything from the characters to the theme song. ( Shushu to sanjou Shushu to ninja jan
Makiokose Yuuki no harikeen!!!) I can't wait until I can afford to buy an HK subbed version. (Or pay someone to sub it...)

"NINJA STORM...RANGER FORM...HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH........."

*gasp for air...then dies*

PS: I'm gonna assume you'll be getting into VR Troopers, Masked Rider, and Beetleborgs right???

Remember "In Living Color" where Damon Wayans and David Alan Greer played "Men on Film" and when they didn't like something they'd say, "HATED IT!" :P

Thats how I feel about Ninja Storm.

All the greatness PR had finally built for itself was blasted away in one season. The Rangers were retards and the villans were morons.

Once again, I hate the last option too. I didn't like Ninja Storm, but it has nothing to do with how much I like Hurricanger. Ninja Storm was wack on its own merits.

By the end it was like they heard our anger and disappointment, cuz then the Rangers and villans started to straighten up. By then, it was just too little, too late.

Things I liked.... Cam... Cyber Cam.... fight sequences remained top quality.... great ninja costumes.... and one of the best opening themes of all time.

Too bad everything else was so damn goofy and there was no real solid story or plot... ugly Zords too.

Ninja Storm really didn't have anything to do with Real Ultimate Power. A friend of mine said near the beginning of it, "You know, with how incredibly cool ninjas are, it's surprising how easily it can be fucked up."

I've already said enough about both of these. Bottom line, both were good and did what each set out to do.

Hurricanger is one of my favorite series! Seriously, Blake and Hunter were pussies compared to Ikkou and Isshuu...and Shurikenger was "Simply Fantastic, baby!". All these former actors doing guest stints for Shurikenger's identity was also a PLUS!!
