Power Rangers MegaForce, Ep 04 - "Stranger Ranger"

It seems more like they cut corners by only filming some scenes and editing others, since apparently it's more money to re-film than Saban's willing to spend. Besides kids won't know the difference so they don't have to work as hard

Yet they wasted big bucks and re-filmed the megazord cockpit scenes for nothing? Someone doesn't know how to spend or invest money somewhere in the company overseeing the series.

Its only to assume they couldn't film entirely new scenes for the dream footage which is the funniest aspect when in reality, it probably wasn't as expensive as any of the Samurai original footage for the cockpit, which would have benefited if they had just used the Japanese footage instead , being Japanese themed and all. I would have made Samurai based more on Japanese footage, with re-filming/digital brushing of the Japanese language signs for English ones. KRDK did it best that way and it saved tons of money.

Megaforce seems lazily done so far, and I bet I could take up the challenge with a few others and erase the Japanese in the background.

Didn't they need the Turbo powers to reach the Nemesis Triangle or what the eff ever?

Short answer Yes, allegedly there was supposed to be another fight scene that involved the Zeo suits along with a longer Megazord Fight but it cost more than they were willing to spend.

I feels like the suits and new cockpit were made to sell toys, seeing as they never did anything outside the megazord and the original "megamode" toy molds had re-color versions of Billy, Jason and Tommy's heads from the MMPR flip heads.

Also wasn't the Ryuuranger Helmet seen along the other ranger Helmet toys at Power Morphicon or toy fair last year?

I didn't mind the cockpit scenes, but they seemed to be a wasted opportunity in the long run, given that the battlizers were amazing and the suits could have been used as a third power up in the vein of the Magiranger ones.

You're right on the Ryuuranger head , so maybe Saban is planning on doing something big with Dairanger?

I always found it weird how PR fans considered the Disney era to be bad when in my opinion it was ok to great except for Overdrive. Currently i find Saban to be very bad at handling Power Rangers and their laziness is making it harder for fans to be excited about Megaforce :redface2:.

Wasn't it planned before that the dairanger suit was supposed to be used by Rocky? Maybe that's why it was left in.

I wonder if Kat, Tanya, Adam, and Ryan Steele/extra will be the Dairangers and Aisha, Zack ,Billy ,Kimberly and Jason for the MMPR? Tommy could be the White Ranger since his powers are gone for Abareblack and the Green Ranger, and Zeo Red could be given to someone else temporarily.

I loved the Disney era because while it had its faults, I'd rather have Disney's team in control at this point than the current crew which downright fails at Film Editing 101 and Directing 101 at many parts. The only good thing Saban has done is the DVD sets, making it back on the air and actually promoting it. They still need to work at creating a superior product by:

-Taking heed at the successes of KRDK. Not only was it a success choreographically, but its remastering of seven year old footage and digital airbrushing of Japanese signs and whatnot allowed far more footage to be used than reshot. Whoever did this monumental work needs to be given a job for subsequent adaptations of the franchise so as to avoid the edit-fails of the latest episode where the Japanese writing was obvious more often than not.

-Better writing and execution. The Disney Era had a better budget [or one better prioritized] and at many times, strove to best and divert from its Japanese counterpart. Ninja Storm through Mystic Force and JF-RPm are the best examples. Bruce Kalish needs to be brought onto a season alongside the RPM crew and Judd Lynn because the former did my two favorite seasons of recent [SPD and Mystic Force] while RPM and JF were pretty amazing in execution, particularly the former. As long as excess explosions don't dominate, I'd take them over the current regime. Aka Kalish is like America's Kobayashi.

-A clear idea at how to spend money. Samurai seemed to be when their brains fell out since they wasted so much money for cockpit scenes for an obvious Japanese themed series and now, when it would make sense to reshoot [I hate the Goseiger cockpit.] and make it like the MMPR one, alongside the obvious shots of pre-zyu suits in the Dream footage. I can deal with less flashy effects if the budget was placed for to airbrush Japanese out of it, or write an episode in Japan to make it easier. Either way, it points to tip 1.

This was half good, half eh. The fake Ranger stuff? Didn't really care. But Creepox is rising quickly as one of my favorite PR villains of all time. He has that Goldar feel to him.

People who said that just had nostalgia boners and refused to move on. I'm sure there all having horrible realizations at this point.

Stop. Just Stop.

And you! Don't encourage him!

It's because Saban Bands is only relying on Nostalgia, and children under the age of five who don't know/care about plot and only want "Colored spandex punching monsters".

They aim for the kids who just stopped watching Nick Jr, but aren't old enough to watch "iCarly" or "Victorious"
