Power Rangers MegaForce, Ep 01 - "Mega Mission"

Shouldn't you be worried about the morphers themselves? I mean, those aren't exactly easy to conceal.

easy, they could pull it out of there ass just like what they did with mighty morphin'(why do you think they always put their hand in there backs when they morph and we never see them when their unmorphed besides the morphing sequence)

'Mega Mission' was a good way to start the series. A new race of evil aliens decided to invade the Earth and an angel decided to summon 5 teenagers to come to the rescue. Did anybody notice that Roboknight was in the first episode, even if it was only a dream/ Was Troy picked because of the dream that he has? Only future episodes can tell us that. :)

Ok, I watched some reviews & was a little worried for a while, but I finally found the episode itself and... I have to say, I'm actually decently impressed. Sure, there were a few moments where they could've aimed the dialogue at a slightly higher age demographic, but it was a decently done homage to MMPR. The writing itself actually does show a good bit of potential & I love the character's playing off one another, except... well, Noah's dialogue feels a bit clunky at times- like they're trying way to hard to make him Billy & some of the things he says... I understood him easily enough, but his choice of words was just... weird.

Funniest line for me: Gosei claiming that taking the form of a giant sentient tiki head was a decent conversation starter for humans. Yes, there was a bit of cheese, but at least it was good cheese that I didn't mind.

Also... not to be an ass, but I swear some of Saban's writer's must have read a few of my fanfics for a laugh. I'm not saying the similarity was bad, or on purpose, but Gia's camera fighting maneuver was similar to a joke I made in Eternal Sect when the pink Ranger blinds Green with her fan & drop kicks him during an exercise, then comments that the weapon might actually be useful after all. Then, there was the firing line foot soldeirs, which I've used twice in Vortex Shield...

I think they've been reading mine too. Cause I saw Gia checking out Tenso.

Is it possible for a creator to plagiarize his own work? I felt like I was watching a modernize version of "Day of the Dumpster?" Lol...This episode was not bad though. I thought the acting was a little bit better than how Samurai started off with. I liked seeing the pass costumes in that hall room and I think the dream sequence of the Legendary War was pretty cool. Wonder how they are going to acknowledge the pre-MMPR teams.

The way the editing is done, there's a chance Saban's not doing acknowledgement to pre-MMPR teams.

For an alien asleep for what could have been thousands of years, he sure knew about BMX biking. :buttrock:

Noah feels less like a nerd and more of a hipster/internet meme commenter.

It's almost time!

The acting is already better than Samurai.

Kickass theme song, although the whole name calling thing doesn't work this time. Samurai definitely did that better.

Agreed. Plus the theme song is worse. I mean seriously, the notes are exactly the same and the lyrics..."Rangers Forever, MEGAFORCE, All together"? Last time it was "Rangers Together, Samurai Forever". All they did was reverse the order of the 2nd and 4th words and replace Samurai with Megaforce. That's just lazy. BRING BACK RON WASSERMAN!

you forgot the awesome POWER RANGERS MEGAFORCE! :shakefist

I think it's just for brand recognition. The new target audience was probably introduced to Samurai before any other series. Saban did the same thing all the way through Alien Rangers, and to a lesser extent Zeo. They'll get past it eventually.

MMPR - Alien was with the same cast within the same seasons.

MegaForce and Samurai have nothing to do with each other. It's just lazyness.
