History: Vincent Rayner was born a run of the mill, absolutely normal kid. Over the years of his youth, he found himself striving to be just about everything he found interesting; from singer songwriter, to pro wrestler, and even an alien hunter. The boy's parents never discouraged him from any of his wide variety of career choices, always encouraging him to live out his dreams. So over the years, he became a jack of all trades, becoming proficient in many things, yet never good enough to make a breakout career in each field. Even so, his parents never faltered on their beliefs, always encouraging him with the words of his youth, and so, Vince began to strive for more.
After a lengthy stint as a comedian, yet another career that had gotten him virtually nowhere in the business, so and so had fallen down on his luck. While he had found talent in so many things, his ultimate rejection upon fame and fortune had driven him down a darker path. As a result, he promptly joined the army, hoping that this career choice would eventually lead him to a definitely stable position in his life.
And how correct he was. During the first few years of his army career, Vince rose majestically through the ranks, earning shinning merits in his wake, eventually leading to a position in a special ops unit. It was here that Vincent finally felt like his calling was met, he finally had a stable position in the world. But all things were not as they seemed, unfortunately.
During a special mission, so and so and his team had been dispatched to investigate an unusual disturbance, where other worldly creatures had been sighted. Upon investigation, his team found a small group of reptiloids, and all were promptly slaughtered, save for Vincent. Thanks to his various activities over the years, he used his surroundings exceptionally, and decimated the very beasts that had killed his team mates.
Shaken, Vince returned back to base for debriefing, where he met Jonathan Cranston, leader of Lambda. The man offered Vince the chance to strike against the reptiloids in revenge for his fallen comrades, however, Vince wanted nothing of the offer, for he had taken his vengeance out on them earlier. Cranston, however, told of him that his talents would not go to waste working for him. Upon this, Vincent readily joined the team, accepting the responsibility of BeastTech Black.
Vincent's personality was shaped throughout his years of doing pretty much everything. He retains his comedic personality the most, often lightening up hardened situations. He is serious however, thanks to his previous stint in the military and his black ops unit. He'll often revert to being serious when the occasion calls for it, or if strategy must prevail.
