Interesting. I'm actually hoping it's not a Gen III remake, I don't feel like those are outdated compared to R/B and G/S.

Go Nintendo source believes new 3DS title will be unveiled by Nintendo tomorrow; game will reportedly feature settings and Pokemon from generations 1-4.

While Nintendo has already announced that its first Nintendo Direct for 2013 will feature Pokemon news, exactly what this announcement will entail is anyone's guess.

However, an anonymous source cited by Go Nintendo believes that the publisher will use tomorrow's live-stream to announce a new Pokemon 3DS title called Pokemon Rainbow.

"The game encompasses the settings and Pokemon from generations 1-4: Red and Blue, Gold and Silver, Ruby and Sapphire, and Diamond and Pearl," the source told Go Nintendo.

"You can take my word for it that the graphics are done up very nicely. The perspective is similar to what you'd expect from Pokemon games, but the camera is much more dynamic. The graphical style is characterised by very clean, dark lines. Battles look radically different and move away from the use of pixel art."

According to the source, the new game is concurrent with Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2's storyline and features over 20 new Pokemon, two of which will reportedly be revealed tomorrow.

"One is an evolution of an older Pokemon Eevee, called Draconeon. The other is a totally new Pokemon called Verbill. It looks like a rodent, much like the Pokemon Patrat, but has a sort of pirate theme going on."

In addition, the source reported that a Wii U app will be unveiled tomorrow alongside the game.

The most recent core Pokemon games were Pokemon Black and White 2, which released in North America in October 2012 behind positive critical plaudits.

Both games cracked the NPD Group's top 10 United States sales chart during their debut month, but neither charted in November (a month filled with heavyweights like Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Halo 4).

The Nintendo Direct live stream will take place at 6am EST.

Just got done with watching the broadcast. No Pokemon Rainbow, but we will all be getting the 6th generation in October on the 3DS. Pokemon X and Pokemon Y. Linkage to proper news sources will be added when available.

There will be two new main series Pokémon games, Pokémon X and Y Versions, it was announced today in a much-hyped worldwide stream from Satoru Iwata. The games will incorporate a completely overhauled graphics system, and a trailer revealed a number of new Pokémon.
The game, exclusive to the 3DS, will feature 3D, cel-shaded graphics very different to previous entries in the series, as well as much more dynamic battle scenes.
The three starter Pokémon from these new games were shown in the trailer: the Grass-type Chespin (Harimaron), the Fire-type Fennekin (Fokko) and the Water-type Froakie (Keromatsu). In addition, two unnamed Pokémon, likely Legendaries and quite possibly version mascots, appeared in the trailer.
Satoru Iwata's presentation also included a retrospective of the franchise's history, with an emphasis on trading and connectivity. He concluded the stream with a promise of near-simultaneous releases of the games across the world, due for October 2013.

I like both version's mascots, but I think the Y-bird is a bit cooler.

It seems I'll be going with the Fire starter this Gen... I just hope that they don't make it a Fighting-type later on... :redface2:

I'm super pumped for the new versions, but sadly I don't have a 3DS, and am not likely to buy it soon, since there's not enough games to justify buying it >_< . Ah, just when I thought staying with my DS was enough:shakefist...

I like the look of both the (most likely) version mascot, and am glad it's not more dragons. Really curious on their story, though.

A fire/psychic starter? Well, that's a first. Though I'm much more interested in the water/fighting starter. The little frog dude even have glasses on!

No known events thus far because, buddy, X and Y are coming out in October. So they might be preparing for that.
