Frank West is a pretty crappy character after all. Too many Tekkaman Blade's and Joe the Condor online, and Zero is official this games Ken.

Well since we are on the topic of comparing TvC characters to SF characters
1.) Ryu is the game's......Well....Ryu
2.) I agree, Zero is this game's Ken. Just like in SF4 you can't go a whole day online without fighting him but you play against him so much you know how to beat him.
3.) Frank West. Is a crappy character and I hope Capcom will learn from their mistake of listening to a bunch of dumbasses on coke. He's this game's Dan. and belive it or not a million people agree with me. (not literally)
4.) And I use Casshhern's Flying Drill Kick to fight people cheating with Gold Lightan and PTX-40A...Has anyone fought this guy called PTX~40A?

Frank West...just doesn't mesh with this game very well I think.

He feels like a last minute edition they decided to throw in because they couldn't think of anyone else.

Or someone that they picked out of a random hat draw.

He's this games Jill Valentine. Then again, I was more comfortable playing as Jill in MVC2...West looks clunky.:sly:

Found this snippet while sniffing for a reason behind Speed getting snubbed...

Speed Racer wasn't included because he wouldn't of been interesting as a fighter outside of the Mach 5. They also didn't want to go the Captain Falcon route by adding in moves the character wasn't originally known to use.

...Which is such a bullshit answer...since Frank is in there.

And ten outta nine dictates that Frank uses moves he is not known to do in Dead Rising. =_=

That is actually not true. All of Franks moves, while exaggerated for comedic effect, ARE based on things Frank could do in Dead Rising.

To expect speed racer to be in a game like this doesn't make much sense. Speed Racer wasn't exactly known for it's constant fight scenes. Especially when you look at the rest of Tatsunoko's lineup, consisting ENTIRELY of characters who spent 70% of their screen time fighting.

As for Frank West, I don't know if you've actually played as him yet, Gatack Striker, but I'm hard pressed to find a SINGLE movie (not counting his supers) that's not taken straight from the game. He used bats, he used golf clubs, he used shopping carts, he used the whirlwind throw. Hell, he used the mega buster, and Kobun head. I think he fits nicely into the game, and they did a good job of working his everyman style of zombie based ass kickery into the game itself.

I was skeptical about Frank West....Well I still am but the thing is that you can't compare Frank West to Speed Racer BTW I saw that article a long time ago and I couldn't stop laughing because it's as exactly my own words about the Speed Racer Issue. He's a racer, He can't fight. And people wanna compare him to Captain Falcon. But Nintendo's "figthing game" they'll give anyone a moveset and I mean anyone. Frank West one the other hand they just added and assorted list of random crap he did in Dead Rising.

Well he could fight.. he just wasn't really known for it.

I couldn't see speed racer working in this game outside of a mini game. I don't know, maybe he could race against Tekkaman/Pegus, Megaman/Rush, Frank West/Any of his zombie-genocider cars.

Frank's hardly the worst character in the game, he's practically Ippatsuman's counter (A high tier character) and dominates the giants and heavy characters.

And it's hardly "cheating" when someone picks one of the giant characters. Both giants have their advantages and disadvantages. And quite frankly the giants aren't that great, only Gold Lightan has some kind of use outside of spamming.

Have you even watched an episode of Speed Racer? Speed and Racer X get into plenty of brawls with ninjas, assassins, and various thugs outside of their respective cars.

Besides like I said earlier, if they can have a character from a dating sim as a playable character in TvC they can fit in Speed Racer.

Make him a grapple character (he was some what of a grappler in the show) with a plethora of assists from other characters like the Mach 5's eagle or Chim Chim. And his supers involve the Mach 5.
