Persona 2 getting PSP remake

Having fun confusing your opinion for fact?

I don't necessarily play a game for the story but a strong one is a huge plus in my book.

I was just sharing my opinion on yours.

Glad to hear that. If a game has a story I can enjoy, I can get into it more, but I play for the gameplay, but it does really tick me off when someone plays only for the story.

It's a key part of the game. There is no con about it being time consuming. It's also part of the entire concept of the game. And what do you mean not activated because of your current stats? Your stats have nothing to do with Social Links.

Links are activated by time of day, day of the week, the month, and if you have gotten other social links to a certain point. If you have a persona of the matching link with you, then you get a bonus towards leveling that link. It also doesn't take "forever". I think you either didn't pay attention to the tutorials, or the explanations of Slinks. If you don't like that system that's one thing, but the way you are talking you make it sound as though Slinks are some random game thing that takes "forever" to get working. That isn't the case.

It introduces girls to the fandom? WTF are you talking about?

I didn't know what to call it, but so I called them "Stats". I mean stuff like "Courage", "Charm," and "Intelligence." In P3, it was easier (after the second time with a clean slate, no New Game+), but P4 itself was a lot harder in this area because you have 5 (with 5 levels each) to work with...

I understand how S Links work. But the parts that annoy me is attempting to bump of an S.Link, and you get, "Your relationship may become closer soon!" and it's all "Well ****, it's not gonna level up..." Meaning, you wasted a day (nights are never wasted IMO) with that. And yes, I did pay attention to tutorials and ****, but I didn't fully understand it until I started using online guides for the game that...further explained things that I failed to pick up on.

But yeah, I still think that, if you're not using guides, they're time consuming, and you tend to forget about things because you either want to finish these S.Links or mainly go to Tartarus/Dungeons that you forget about side stuff like "Quests" and "Social Stats" (that's what I call them...Social Stats) that techically are equally as important, but...overall not so much but still be noted about. Especially since some things have a date limit (mostly Quests).

...And, seriously dude, you REALLY can't tell a joke when you see one? Goddamn, y'know, I can be REALLY mean and REALLY insulting right now, but I won't. I'm just not gonna say anything, 'cause damn it's not worth it.

Edit: And also, MAYBE you shouldn't be making assumptions about how I play the game because that's also downright insulting, saying I didn't do something when you don't know if I did or not, even if you "thought" I didn't.

Ah well. Persona 3 and 4 isn't for everyone. That is why I am glad Atlus has so much to offer. There is always something good coming from them

EDIT: By the way. I think those of us that love the game and those that aren't very partial to it will disagree no matter what. I've said what I wanted to about the game, so I will just say I am happy P2 IS is coming out again. Other than that have fun with this thread :)

Nice way to start a reply. But then I have seen you talk about other topics around here, so I would think you wouldn't be tossing around "fanboy" at other people. But hey if it makes you feel like a bigger dude, then go for it.

Come at me bro, u gelatinous, u mirin, u mad, haters gonna hate, not a single **** was given that day, etc. All of them apply.

EDIT: Oh wait I found my image

Anyway... Since you say you have played P4 and you still lable it as such, then it is clear you never played P3/FES. They are also not dating games. Half the game eating lunch with Yosuke eh? That's just pure bullshit right there. Who the hell is Yumi? No characters in the game have daddy issues. Starting a romance in P4 isn't a key aspect of the game. You can just be friends with any of the girls in the game. You CHOSE to date one of them if you CHOSE. See that word there? CHOSE. All the links, save a few, are side quests. They really help fill out the game in most cases. And you are wrong about the midterms thing. You can do just fine even if you fail them. All doing better does is SLIGHTLY raise your link standing with a FEW of your classmates. You say you are on your second playthrough, yet you don't know these key points and systems of the game? Right....

Never played P3, probably never will.
Yumi, Yuzi, or some fucking Japanese name, the girl represented by The Sun tarot card at Drama club whatever her name is. Half the game eating lunch with Yosuke is an example to show how much of the game you're going to be spending dicking around with your party doing things that have nothing to do with what you should be doing. Quit parsing words I specifically stated you can't play the game well if you don't build your Social Links. Play the game well you can sure as hell play without building any Social Links and not get any good bonuses when fusing your Persona's. It'd be like playing Wii Boxing but instead of using the Wii Mote as a boxing glove you're just sitting on your ass slightly flicking the Wii Mote to punch.

You dislike the game. You have made that clear, but you are on a second playthrough? Seems like you are just looking for reasons to bitch about some things, and an excuse to make **** up about the rest of it. And yeah I say make **** up, because of what you said above and in a previous post.

I'm a masochist, no but seriously I missed out on a lot of things in my first play through (left Inaba ending, didn't max Social Link with everyone, didn't get into a relationship with anybody, checked out Music instead of Drama, etc.). That at and I'm looking for as many JoJo references as I can find since I didn't read Part 4 when I first played it. Surprisingly there are more Part 3 than Part 4 references aside from the premise. Sure believe want you want to believe, but at the end of the day you just mad cause I'm stylin' on you.

FF4 had good writing yeah, but it was just SAVE THE WORLD. There was nothing that made it stand out. Don't get me wrong I loved FF4, but the writing is not all that amazing. I only played a bit of tactics. Grandia 2 was OK, but you talk about P4 having atrocious dialogue and you list Grandia 2 as better? Wow... XII was OK until they let Vahn talk. I played NIer for an hour and took it back. Tales of the Abyss is great yes, but it is your standard tales of. Great writing, just nothing new.

I mostly like FFIV for the characters, especially Cecil's plot. Maybe its been a while since I played Grandia II but I'm pretty sure the dialogue wasn't as vapid and insipid as it was in P4. I could be mistaken but I really don't recall anything that really disappointed me.

Ah well. Persona 3 and 4 isn't for everyone. That is why I am glad Atlus has so much to offer. There is always something good coming from them

As much as I dislike 4 I'd say that is the easiest installment to get into for the Megaten franchise. Well I've heard good things about Devil Survivor but it doesn't look appealing at all to me.

According to reports, this remake is going to have a much higher budget than the first Persona remake because Atlus apparently made several butt-loads full of money off of the P3 remake.

So I guess sometimes you need to pander to the broader audience if you want to have the ability to pander to your more dedicated one.

Unfortunately, both games are too big to fit on one UMD.

Hopefully though, this will also do well enough they'll go for a remake of EP as well.
