I’m currently rewatching Peacemaker Season 1 in preparation for the launch of Season 2 next week, and one of my thoughts was “huh, this show was a lot raunchier than I remember.” Now that Peacemaker himself is part of the “main” Gunnverse DCU, will any of that be toned down? Gunn and Cena appear at the front of the Red Band Trailer released today to deliver a big fat NO to that question — in as many F-bombs as they can muster. So because of this, YouTube won’t let us embed the trailer for Peacemaker Season 2 — we can only link you to it, and advise you not to play it at work, or the sensitive woman who collects cat figures two monitors down will get very upset. Note that a clean trailer was released last May, and we embedded that one below, but it’s not going to have any new footage. The uncensored trailer answers one big question: how does Peacemaker get from the Zack Snyder Justice League ‘verse to the new Gunnverse? Easy….if you recall, his nasty dad had access to a pocket dimension in his own house. He used this to store his weapons, but Peacemaker […]

I cannot wait for Season 2. I enjoyed the humor and action in the first season so much. The fact that Gunn and Cena are making sure nothing is toned down is great news for me. Sometimes, when shows move into a bigger universe, they lose their unique style. Here it looks like they are keeping the same energy. I am curious about how the pocket dimension will be used. It is a fun way to connect different storylines. Amanda Waller getting involved usually means things will get intense. I also love that the full cast is coming back, including Eagly. The chemistry between all of them was a big reason Season 1 worked so well. I think the Gunnverse has a chance to feel fresh because it is not just copying the same superhero tone we see everywhere else.

The humor and adult content worked for me before, but I hope they do not overdo it just to prove they can still be edgy. Sometimes too much of that can take away from the story. I am more interested in Peacemaker’s emotional development and how he deals with the consequences of what happened last season. The pocket dimension idea sounds creative, but I hope it is explained clearly. Time travel or multiverse jumps can become messy if they are not handled well. I do like that Amanda Waller will be part of the conflict. She always adds tension and a serious tone. Having the same cast return is a good decision, especially because Vigilante and Leota’s dynamic was very entertaining. I will give it a chance, but I will be paying close attention to see if the writing stays balanced.

The trailer was exactly what I wanted to see. I like that Gunn and Cena confirmed the style will not change. Peacemaker is supposed to be loud, rude, and chaotic, and toning him down would make the show less fun. The pocket dimension link between Snyder’s universe and Gunn’s is a simple solution. I am glad they did not try to make it overly complicated. Waller’s involvement makes me think there will be high stakes. Having all the main actors back is great, especially Vigilante and Judomaster

From a storytelling point of view, I think the use of the pocket dimension is an elegant way to bridge the two DC universes. It allows for continuity without needing a complete reset. Peacemaker’s relationship with his father was central to Season 1, so reintroducing his father’s legacy in this way feels natural. The decision to keep the tone unfiltered is also important. The original show’s appeal came from its willingness to be different from standard superhero content. If they had toned it down, the risk of losing its identity would have been high. I also appreciate that the supporting cast is intact. In ensemble shows, the chemistry between actors is often as important as the lead performance. Cena works well with Brooks, Stroma, and Holland, and their banter gives the action more impact. I hope Season 2 balances absurd comedy with genuine emotional moments. That mix is what made Season 1 stand out for me.

I love that they are keeping the same energy as before. Too often shows change when they join a bigger universe. The pocket dimension idea is cool, and I think it could open the door for other cameos in the future. I want to see more of Eagly too.
