What’s with the extremely long wait between seasons of streaming shows? In the case of most of them, who knows, but in the case of Max’s Peacemaker, there’s a valid excuse: in between seasons 1 and 2, showrunner James Gunn was given the keys to the entire DC Cinematic Universe. That task has kept him very busy, but it looks like he finally had time to deliver on the promise he made back in 2022: a second season of Peacemaker is on the way. And believe it or not, Gunn says it takes place in his new DC universe, despite the ending from the previous season where the Snyderverse Justice League made an appearance. Just forget that, I guess. To hammer home this fact, the trailer for Season 2 begins with Peacemaker being interviewed by Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Isabel Merced as Hawkgirl and Sean Gunn (James’s brother) as Maxwell Lord. all actors confirmed to be appearing in the upcoming Superman movie. So there! Any doubt now? Peacemaker Season 2 also ties in with Creature Commandos, the cartoon that appeared on Max last December (and where Sean Gunn voiced a robot and a weasel). In that series we met […]

I really liked the first season of Peacemaker. It was funny, weird, and different from other superhero shows. I don’t usually care about comic book stuff, but this one felt fresh. I was afraid they would cancel it after James Gunn became the boss of DC, but I’m glad it’s back. It’s also interesting that it now fits into the new DC universe. I think that will confuse some people, though. The Justice League cameo at the end of season one made a big splash, but now we’re supposed to ignore it? That feels messy. Still, I trust Gunn. He has a clear voice and knows how to mix comedy with action. I’m excited for the new characters like Green Lantern and Hawkgirl. Nathan Fillion is always fun to watch. August can’t come soon enough.

I’ve been waiting for Season 2 since 2022, and I was starting to think it wouldn’t happen. This news makes me very happy. I watched the teaser and it looks promising. I was surprised to see Green Lantern and Hawkgirl show up. James Gunn is clearly trying to make everything more connected now. I’m not sure if that will work, but I’m willing to see where he goes with it. I’m most excited about the return of Vigilante. He was hilarious and strange. Also, Eagly was my favorite character last season. I wonder if he’ll do something cool again. The part about Rick Flagg Sr. is also interesting. It could bring some emotion to the show. His son’s death was one of the few serious moments in The Suicide Squad. I didn’t think that would have consequences. Overall, I’m glad this is finally coming. I’ll definitely watch.

I like Peacemaker, but it’s strange how they keep telling us to ignore past events. First, we had Snyder’s Justice League. Now it’s all new again? If you want us to care, make it feel consistent. Still, I like John Cena in this role, so I’ll probably keep watching.

This is probably the only superhero show I’ve enjoyed in the past five years. It didn’t take itself seriously, and that was refreshing. I watched the trailer and it still looks funny. But I’m confused by the timeline stuff. Is this before Superman or after? Is this a reboot? James Gunn’s DC plans are hard to follow. But if he can keep Peacemaker feeling personal and not like a big setup for other movies, then I’ll keep watching. The characters worked really well together, and that’s what made the first season special. You could feel that they were broken people trying to be better. I hope Season 2 keeps that tone and doesn’t lose it in all the superhero crossovers.

Honestly, I’m just here for Eagly. I don’t care about DC or timelines or which universe this belongs to. Eagly is the best bird on TV, and I’m glad he’s back.

I feel like James Gunn is trying to fix too many things at once. Connecting Peacemaker to Creature Commandos and the Superman movie at the same time might not be a good idea. What if it gets too complicated? The charm of Season 1 was that you didn’t need to know anything else. It was funny, it had heart, and the cast was strong. If Season 2 turns into a commercial for the new DC universe, I’ll be disappointed. I want character development, not homework. I hope Gunn remembers what made the show special. Bringing in Green Lantern and Hawkgirl could be fun, but only if they serve the story. Otherwise, it will feel forced. I’ll still give it a chance. But my expectations are mixed.

To be honest, I only clicked the article because of the headline. I didn’t think the show would return. This made my day. I watched Season 1 twice. It was that good. The new trailer made me laugh, especially the part with Vigilante. I think this season might be crazier. I'm not a comic book fan, but Gunn’s writing is easy to follow. That helps people like me enjoy these shows without needing to know every detail. I'm curious about Rick Flagg Sr. He could add more serious moments. I liked that balance in the first season. If they keep doing that, Season 2 could be even better.

This just made my week. I missed these characters so much. The wait was way too long, but I understand why. James Gunn had to run the whole DC world now. I don’t know much about Creature Commandos but maybe I’ll watch it before Season 2 starts. The idea that this is part of the new universe makes me nervous though. I liked Peacemaker because it was free from the rest. I hope it doesn’t become too focused on setting up other things. But I trust the cast. Cena is perfect in this role. Danielle Brooks was my favorite. I want to see more of her character’s story. I hope we get some answers too about what happened after the finale. Only a few more months to wait!
