parents annoying you about getting a job

has anyone on here ever get annoyed about your own parents bugging you to get a job?

my dad gets on my nerves on everyday about me getting a job rather talk about something else, i mean i have been looking for a job for the sake of buying all the mecha, i just dont like it when im being pressured all the time.

You sound like a hikikomori :laugh: Im not sure if your situation relates to this this but try watching "Welcome to the NHK" and you'll get a picture of something you don't want to turn out :laugh:

If you're the kind of person who lives with their parents and sits in front of the computer all day, then God help you.

If you're 24, you either need to be working and getting out on your own, or going to school.

I just passed my Massage Therapy examination and now Im an official Massage Therapist, with that said. Im currently looking for a job right now, and finding one is just hard I was referred by one but they ended up having enough therapist TT_TT

but yah, if you're 20 & older there shouldn't be any excuse as to why you are jobless. Get your ass off and start looking!!

Aside from the fact that a lot companies are in the middle of downsizing and aren't particularly on a hiring frenzy. Still the older you get, the harder it's going to get to find a job if you don't have any work experience. At 24 you're going to be going up against other potential employees who already have 6-8 years of employment under their belt and likely at least an AA.

As much as the prospect of working for free / practically nothing sucks, it might be a good idea to look into either some volunteer work or an internship. Just to get in that experience and have something on a resume. If you're parents are getting on your case to get a job, ask them if there are any internships or entry level positions opening at wherever they work. Or better yet, ask your friends if there are any openings. Work's always better when you actually like the people you have to deal with.

Some examples of interesting jobs friends hooked me up with:
In 2000 my friend hooked me up with an internship at Bandai working with their localization department.
In 2004-2006 I was working at Square (and later Square Enix, as i was working during the merger) as a tester/debugger because a friend told me there was an opening on their team, letting me work on Unlimited Saga and Dragon Quest VIII and others while i was finishing up my degree.

Neither job paid especially well, but they were interesting, and they helped me (among my other jobs) pay my way through college.

Dude, if you're 24, and you're sitting in the house waiting for an opportunity; you're day is never gonna come. No offense intended. Living with your parents is fine, but you have to at least go to school, get out the house 95% of your time there, and more importantly getting a job. Like...now.

If you're tired of your parent's getting on your back, you need to take the initiative and get up EVERY day looking...All. Day. Long. If you think you're missing something important online...you're not. The computer is going nowhere. However, I need to practice what I preach.

It's not hard. There's a thousand easy little jobs out there. I started working the minute I hit 16 and had my own car.

How are you going to bring women home with the line "wanna come back to my parents place?" :laugh:

But the recession is kicking our asses and I really need another job, this is where my mother's nagging comes in. XD Damnit, I'm going to, I'm going to! Wish I just had a but more gumption already.
