Overrated / Underrated Power Rangers series

Overrated-Dino Thunder. Just for the things that others have mentioned. It was great seeing Tommy back...but after awhile it was like they were beating us over the head w/ him being back. Also the sterotypes of the characters. Granted it's been in every PR series, but just seemed to be super obvious in DT. Also having Trent turn good and therefore have an "Evil Clone" for most of the series was just dumb and poor use of a weak plot attempt.
It also probably doesn't help that DT was also the first season where I had seen the Sentai version before it. I really liked Aba, so maybe I was a little biased from the get go.

Underrated-Zeo. I downloaded and rewatched the series last year and I really enjoyed it. The storylines were fun and there were some really strong episodes (A Season To Remember, and the 2 parters w/ the Gold Ranger).

Overrated: Power Rangers Ninja Storm.
To me, Ninja Storm is the Al Shamsoon of Power Rangers. Basically it's nothing more than Ninpuu Sentai Hurricanger (one of my personal favorite Sentai ), with almost everything ripped out and replaced with unworthy stuff such as this "Extreme Sports" look, unfunny comedy, and laser beams in replacement for shurikens. Hurricanger had the cookyness too, but for some strange reason Hurricanger managed to be funny at the same time (I guess that's just how Japanese comedy works, check out their whacky game shows ). Ninja Storm ruined the story of 2 rival teams of Rangers, the GouRaijers weren't surposed to get on with the Hurricangers as buddies, they work together to defeat evil, but they never get on with each other until the final episode. Shurikenja wasn't surposed to have a true identity. I'll try not to go into anymore detail incase "that" happens, so I'll just say Ninja Storm just doesn't have the good storyline, comedy and likeable characters that Hurricanger had (infact it had nothing). Remember that Sega TV Commercial "Genisis Does what NintenDon't"? Well it's kinda how this is. Hurricanger Does what Ninja Storm Don't!! :laugh:

(plus, Nao "Kawaii" Nagasawa looks way prettier than that blonde woman :eplus2: ).

Underrated: Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue
A LOOOOOOOONG time ago, this series got serious bashings on RangerGallery. Infact, more bashings than Justin from Power Rangers Turbo. And personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with this series at all. OK, so it's not better than GoGo V, but that still doesn't make it a bad series. The only good reason they can make up for LSR's critisism is "Carter is Gay". PFFFFT!! What? How the f**k do they know that Carter is gay or not? I've never seen a single bit on LSR where Carter had any gay relations with any men (not that they'd ever allow such a scene on Power Rangers). And even if he is gay does it matter? What if Sean cw Johnson is already married to a hot n sexy kawaii Japanese babe, and made babies with her? GOD!! What were they thinking?!!

Anyway, personally I liked the idea of the Power Ranger working for a defense orginization, with lots of sophisticated technology and stuffs. Now that on RangerBaord there's a whole series being uploaded in AVI format, I'm thinking of giving the show another chance.

Underrated: Power Rangers SPD
Well, actually I think I was the only one who underrated it. I thought since Ninja Storm, because Power Rangers was in Disney's hands forever that Power Rangers were gonna be **** forever, until I decided to give SPD another go, and discovered it was a whole lot better than Ninja Storm. It wasn't a reduced version of DekaRanger, infact it was as good as DekaRanger. Both had likeable characters, a good storyline, good action, etc.. I've not finished watching SPD unfortunately, but I can't now because they're all on Rapidshare, which had suddenly become a pain in the rectum to download with now. :nono: I'm thinking about setting up mIRC, but I've not done that yet.

It depends on what forum you're on. Here, SPD is way too overrated and DT is way underrated. It's different on RB. Overall though, I'd say MMPR Season 3 doesn't get enough love.

For me, Lightspeed Rescue, and Wild Force fall into the same category.

The villains are FAR more interesting than any of the rangers.

I have to agree with that. Never before has such an action packed episode left me so bored.

I actually liked Ninja Storm's finale. Not just because I was glad it was over, but I thought it was well done and action packed.

Same for Samurai Quest.

I wish the rest of the series had been like that.

Hmm.. I was more thinking of the younger children (something like 5 - 7/8-ish), who don't really come to boards like HJU and the only Power Rangers websites they do visit would be the Officials ones.

I think the reason why Ninja Storm would be overrated is because of the kids being brainwashed by it's extreme sports image / skatepunk theme tune / whatever.

If I were to make a kid watch an episode of Hurricanger, he'll say it sucks and Ninja Storm is better. And I'll ask him why, and he'll run out of ideas and say: "er... because it's not Jetix", or "er.. ..because It's Japanese.... and.. ..I hate Japanese!!".

Naaaaw.. I wasn't really the overusage of comedy that made me hate Ninja Storm, it was just that the comedy was just not very good.

Ultimately I hate NinjaStorm because it was an empty series and a ruined version of Hurricanger (like Al Shamsoon was a ruined version of The Simpsons). Making it the worst Power Rangers series ever.

EDIT: Oh, and I wouldn't call NinjaStorm "Action Packed", I'd call it "Action Unpacked"!!
