I need to hunt that down.

Unless I'm mistaken, those 2 pics are the same.

Woot! Just ordered my first Kamen Rider RP toys ever. The Taka, Kujaku, and Condor Candy Toy Core Medals. I've been itching for some medals ever since I heard they have diecast in them (the candy toys do have diecast, don't they?) and I thought that these would be perfect to go with my Figuarts TaJaDoru display.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Candy Toy medals don't have any diecast at all. Completely and totally plastic

Ah, that is sort of lame. Still these will look cool with TaJaDoru. Thanks for the info though.

Edit: Is the cheapest way to get all of TaJaDoru's diecast medals to buy the DX OOO Driver and the TaJa Spinner?

It's much cheaper to buy them individually than it is to buy the products. If you're going off ebay, the OOO driver is going to run you over $100, and I'm not sure on the Taja Spinner. But the individual medals won't be more than $15 each (at least that's how much I'd sell 'em for)

Okay, well the Candy Toys will have to suffice if buying the OOO Driver and TaJa Spinner is the only way, because I can't find the individual medals on Ebay. I paid $30 shipped for all 3 of the candy toy medals, so I hope that is fair. $10 per medal didn't seem too much to me.

EDIT: I just saw your thread. I should have bought them from you. :O_O: Think you can get me Taka, Tora, and Batta?

Lol, when I get back to the states on the 12th, I'll probably be opening a shop to sell my extra medals and other assorted stuffs. If you can hold out of that long, sure =P

The consolation in the Candy Toy Medals is that paint and metal aren't really meant for each other, so now you have some Medals you can carry around in your pocket & not freak out if you happen to drop them. Once I have enough DX/Gashapon Cores, I'm just gonna have the rims stripped of paint & anodized.

Speaking of paint, I got a 2nd Kujaku from Candy Toy series 5, so I tried removing the dye from the Medal face & this is the result:

So yes, they ARE clear plastic. I only removed the dye from the "raised" part of the peacock design (which shows up best in this pic in the outer edges of the wings) but this makes the design completely see-through & looks even weirder when you put the chip back in. So I thought I'd try lightly spraying the backs with this new metallic red paint that Krylon makes for painting metal objects like bike frames, etc.

While it worked well enough & it's still translucent, there's no huge difference in the shades of red between the raised peacock design and the surrounding textured areas. So I guess I'll try hand painting the textured parts and/or a silver backspray next.

Medals, whee!
