And not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change."
She's not saying "oh man, America has fucking sucked for the last 230 years!" She's saying that for the first time in the last 25 years, she's really proud of her country. Not just proud, but really proud. I think that's a 100% valid statement, even if you are trying to drag it out of context. I've only been an adult for 13 years now, but I really can't think of a whole mess of times where I've stood up and said to myself, "Well run my undies up a pole and call me Betsey Ross, today I am proud as **** to be an American." I can't even think of more than two. That's not to say I don't love my country - I do, tremendously - but I am often left thinking that as a nation, we could have done more or done better. And I think that Ms. Obama feels the same way.

Dude i with you i haven been a adult long and to honest i can't remember a time that I said wow i'm proud as hell to be an American but I can count 5 to 6 time in the last year i can say i'm proud two be latino. As a matter of fact I can't remember the last time anyone around me has said in the last 8 years has said "wow anit it great to be and american". Tell what wrong with this picture.
