Nintendo DS Lite!

I dunno, one of the things I like about my DS is that it's durable. If I pulled hard enough I could probably break it in half, but it's still 5-7 more durable than the PSP which is fragile as hell.

Handheld gaming always seemed like the poor man's gaming platform until now, where my DS is a contender in quality and time I put into it with the rest of my consoles.

A guy I game with has a DS.. haven't really had the chance to game on it, but I've at least picked it up. The flip-top just felt.. flimsy in my hands, like the joint could be easily broken. Don't know if there's any truth to that, though.

Point being.. this going to be something like the GBA/GBA-SP thing? New, better version that still somehow manages to forget something? (Headphone jack, anyone?)

Still, I'm probably going to pick up a DS soon enough... gotta get my Advance Wars fix.

Flimsy? On a Nintendo system! Whatever!
And oh yes the old Headphone jack arguemnt, heaven forbid you have to plop down $2 for the attachment.

Given that it's something that should have been included in the first place... yeah, shelling out $2 is a bit of an insult.

It's not the cost, it's the principle. It's not something that's optional, like the GBA-GC connector. You don't really need that, and the instances where you would use it are relatively small. Same thing with the X-Box and the DVD controller. A headphones jack would be used by the average person.. often. Very often. There are plenty of times where you're wanting to game, and you need to keep it quiet.

Forcing a $2 purchase for something that's been standard on every single one of their handhelds up to that point is an insult. Why not just charge $2 more for it, and throw one in the box?

..but, back to the point.. as I said, I didn't play around with the DS much, more of picked it up and fiddled with it.. if you guys say the joint is robust, then I'll take your word on it.

Nintendo just doesn't stop! Got this from www.dsfanboy.com :

Iwata's GDC keynote to shed some light on Lite

After snooping around the ongoing Game Developer's Conference, the guys at DS Advanced have reported that Satoru Iwata's keynote tomorrow is likely to lay out Nintendo's plans for the American DS Lite launch. If their information is to be trusted, Mr. Iwata will be announcing both a firm release date and a price for that most desirable of handheld redesigns. The question of whether or not this turns out to be true should be answered in less than 24 hours from now.

Of course, we can't let this one slip by without tossing in some of our own pompous and potentially embarrassing predictions:

The original DS will be reduced in price to an attractive $99.
The DS Lite will launch in June at the equally attractive price of $149.99.
A classy black DS Lite will replace the Arctic Blue model in the US (because that one simply isn't attractive enough).
New Super Mario Bros. will be bundled with either the Phat or the Lite in order to attract more buyers.
Note: We also predict that our predictions won't be entirely accurate, so subscribe to them with caution.

Coolest thinkg about this is that we're getting a Black Lite. Now, back in the day, although fans would demand it, Nintendo would've been like, "**** you, take your gay blue and like it."

Now... they don't even wait for us to beg! They're like, "Huh... Americans would probably like this in a black. Let's just hook 'em up."

GO NINTENDO!!!
